    Anthems over.
Grumble -- ESPN3's link for FRA-SAF just opens a duplicate stream of MEX-URU.

mods - thought I should ask before doing so but are we aloud to discuss the result of SAF v France in here too as the outcomes are relevant to what's going on here. If so, any chance to change the title to multiple R's.

Yeah, we can mention the ongoing results of the other game. Let's keep actual analysis of the SA/France game in that game thread though.

    Any R means R.

Egad -- well, ESPN3's picture-in-picture causes a blue screen crash, and then something I've never heard before -- my cooling fan started accelerating without bound, for 10 seconds and about 2 octaves, ignoring the hardware reset switch. I yanked the plug out!!

    atdhe :D

This is a typical Copa America semi lol.

Or QF actually... the semi would be the winner of this one vs. Argentina or Brazil.

To clarify a bit...since it is relevant AND since it will be discussed by broadcast.

35' 0-0 #15 Diego Pérez and #18 Andrés Guardado both leap for a ball near Mexico's(?) box top. Pérez knocks his right eye socket into Guardado's outstretched-for-leverage left elbow. Pérez's skin gets stretched too far, and ruptures minutely right at the eye socket, causing a spectacular stream of blood to roll down his cheek and drip onto his shirt. He walks off in no real discomfort -- probably more annoyed at having to leave the field.

38' 0-0 Pérez quickly gets a bandage and a skintight elastic cap over it. And blood still oozes out as he tries to check back in, and the 4th official sends him back to the bench for more wiping!

43' 0-1 #10 Diego Forlan plays left-to-right to 25m way right, to #7 Edinson Cavani in acres of space, one-touch lobs a deep cross to 6-top wide of left post, and unmarked #9 Luis Suárez leaping-heads perfectly low left to the foot of the post, past a diving #1 Óscar Pérez.

This group could be titled: Story of Two Former Champions.

France disintegrating, and Uruguay regaining a strength not seen in a long time and trying a run for their third star.

Wow, two more in the goal difference between SA and Mexico, and South Africa would qualify at Mexico's expense. Yikes.

Well, actually it might go to lots at that point, depending on goals scored. This is getting interesting.

True. Hey, in other board I made that point, that you had won the two Olympic games before the first WC and those games have had more participants and had been tougher and very much the equivalent to world cups, etc.

Otherwise, I'm happy to see you guys back. La garra Charrúa.
