Yuck, I think I'm going to change my moniker. :(

Well, with two consecutive first-round exits, they had to find a way to get rid of all of the leftover MPF paraphernalia they've had in storage.

Perhaps when he said that he wasn't expecting to make the playoffs?

MPF Parade: On the day of the MetroStars first playoff game (date TBD) there will be a MetroStars Playoff Fever Parade that starts in Harrison, NJ (future home of the MetroStars) and ends with a Pep Rally at Giants Stadium. Youth Soccer clubs from across the tri-state area will be entering floats, with $1,500 of prize money on the line to the team that builds the best float. Each club that participates will have a MetroStars player visit their club when they are working on their float. To participate in the event contact Chris Canetti @ (201) 583-7031.

Calling this whole thing ridiculous and embarrasing (again) does not do it justice.....

MPF was hilarious in a perverse way. Can somebody post the pictures from last year?

This one is my personal favorite. A picture of Humphrey Bogart will certainly get those turnstiles churning.

Well, tis that time of the year again.

Despite the overwhelming condemnation of the MPF gimmick last year, the MFO is back at it again. It took a genius to come with that thing first time around, but it takes an absolute mental giant to bring it back after the fan reaction. I really don't think those Sakiewicz-mandated GED classes paid off.

Yeah, but explain how an advertisement with an empty stadium will convice people to watch the Metros instead of the Yankees versus Red Sox in the ALCS??

Actually I think it was the Open Cup final that went up against the Yanks/Sox series. No one should have been surprised at the miniscule turn-out that night seeing that the MFO only had a month to get the word out. Now that I'm thinking about it, they probably figured what the hell no one is paying attention anyways because of the ALCS.
