Le meilleur buteur du club (9 réalisations en L1) l'a confirmé hier après-midi, à l'issue d'une entrevue avec le président Olivier Sadran. "Rennes m'a proposé un super contrat que j'ai refusé, lance l'international (27 ans, 3 sélections). Je continue l'aventure avec Toulouse, car je sens qu'il y a la possibilité de viser plus haut".
Arrivé l'été dernier de Lens, Moreira avait alors signé un bail de quatre ans avec les Violets. Mais la mauvaise série en cours toulousaine (six défaites d'affilée), conjuguée à l'offre lucrative du club breton, avaient "troublé" l'ancien guingampais. "L'an prochain, nous seront costauds", assure-t-il. Le TFC est en quête de trois ou quatre joueurs. Dont un milieu axial, un milieu gauche (pour pallier le départ de Dalmat) et un attaquant. Ce dernier pourrait être le Togolais Adebayor, pourtant encore sous contrat avec Monaco. Côté départ, "il n'y aura pas de bon de sortie parmi les titulaires", assure Olivier Sadran.

The club is looking for 3 or 4 players, perhaps Togolais Adebayor from Monaco. President Olivier Sadran also says that no further players from the mean team will leave.

Maybe someone here can help me. Who was Toulouse's manager in 98-99? He was a former French national team player, younger guy, and I can't remember for the life of me his name. I also wonder what he's doing now. So much was expected out of that guy....

Alain Giresse ... but he came on board at the end of the year meh thinks (from ze PSG I believe). I think he replaced Guy Lacombe but I could be mixing up with another club

Yes! You're spot on......... Where is he now? In 1998 he was a strong candidate for the national team.....
