The referee was decisive.

In the last minutes that moron succeeded not to see a clear penalty on Esposito and then disawolled a regular goal (Esposito)...

There was another penalty in the first half on, guess who, Esposito.

Cagliari were furious in stoppages when Esposito fell under pressure from Pfertzel, but the referee waved play on.

The Sardinians thought they had won the match in the final minute when Zola's free kick was deflected into the path of Esposito, but the goal was controversially disallowed for a very debatable offside decision.

I watched also the highlights so I can say there were both the 2 penalties and the goal was regular.

At the stadium it wasn't easy to judge also because of the heavy rain.

A good defensive performance. The attack still lacks something. This something could be Suazo who hasn't yet recovered from the injury. Sadly it looks like today his muscolar injury hit him again... let's hope it is nothing serious.

Well, the year before we ended in 2nd place so it was not that a surprise at the time.

In 1968-69 our attack was Riva-Boninsegna (+ english Hitchens)

That team wasn't only Riva... Albertosi, Domenghini, Cera, Nenè etc.

In 1970-71 Cagliari lead serie a till early in the season Riva got severely injured (a broken leg).

Inter won the scudetto but with Riva still playing Inter - Cagliari 1-3.

5 of the scudetto winners were part of NT in Mexico 70 (Albertosi, Niccolai, Cera, Domenghini, Riva).
As you surely know Italy lost the final against Brasil.
