I am going to Scotland and N.Ireland for 6 months and would like to get a shot at playing the highest level soccer possible in either of these two countries.

Anyone from these countries here to steer me in the right direction? Clubs I should contact?

Can't offer any direct help myself. However, you might want to check out the boards specifically dedicated to soccer in those countries. Also there's a chance the Player Board might be of help, but you're probably better off checking the boards below.
