Default Rovers- Newcastle 9/11 [r]

3-0 Newcastle

this was painful to listen to on the webcast, it just sounded like there was no fire, nothing in this one at all. No serious scoring threats for Blackburn at all today. The new manager may find this to be quite a reclamation project. The squad is not bad, but they just don't have "it" at the moment.

I didn't listen to the game but I heard that we played like crap. This team looks like it could be in serious danger of getting relegated. Yeah, the refs have cost us a few points, but the team hasn't really looked good at all this year.

I think we came away with one shot on goal, truly sad. As you mentioned, we'd have more points if not for a couple of dubious calls, but points or no points, it's no excuse to mail in such a pathetic showing as today's.

This was always going to be a really rough match: Rovers leaderless and Newcastle with a lot to prove. Bad luck to concede an early own goal though. At least Parkes had the sense to play Matteo at the back--though he didn't have a particularly good game, I reckon. Not a good sign that Pedersen came off at HT, either...
