Smile hi all, i'm new

new to this board, and new to soccer as well. i am a HUGE ice hockey fan and have been for years but just now am getting into soccer, partly through my boyfriend who loves it..i finally gave it a chance and watched and i actually quite liked it I'm only interested in British soccer tho, or football as they call it...not sure why, its just the only one that interests me. i hope the fans of soccer in other places dont hate me for that

i know next to nothing about the game itself tho i know they call the field the pitch, and when you get a red card it means you're thrown out of the game, and that offense are called "strikers"..and thats about it. but hey thats why i'm here, partly-to learn...and partly to talk to other football/soocer fans.

personal info:

i'm female, i live in san francisco with one fat gray tabby cat named wonton
i play guitar and i like to write songs, poetry, and erotica, along with making websites. i also have my own messageboard, i'm not sure if its ok to advertise it here so i wont right now.

soo..thats about it

Hello, im one of the friendly Moderators of these parts. A way to tell is if there is the word Arsenal next to team, then they are friendly, all others beware of.
So if you only like 'British Soccer', you must mean the English premiership, so which team to you support? What games have you watched? The busiest board on this site in the English Clubs section is (obviously as im there.. ) the Arsenal forum, come in and you'll soon see why its the best team.......

(don't trust any Tottenham or Spurs supporters though, they are real bad news....)

Hi Rain and Rickbreese,

I am new to this gig too. I have been reading posts for a couple of months now on Big Soccer, especially the premiership and finally got the courage to sign up. As you can tell from my name, i follow liverpool only becasue i am from OZ and Harry K. plays there(altho i wish he would play better ). Anyway, I respect your posts Rickbreese on the Arsenal boards. learnt al ot thru them and have to say that I really like watching Arsenal play as well. Anyway, as they say 'HAVE AT IT' and hope this is the start of something beautiful =)

g'day rain!

one team to watch right now to learn all you need to know about soccer is arsenal fc from london, UK!!!

im sure you heard of manchster united but theyve been pretty lame of late, chelsea are also pretty lame - arsenal play sexy football and can boast the worlds best midfielder and striker in thierry henry and patrick vieira!

i suggest if you wanna catch some truly brilliant footy then check this site for some highlights http://www.origo.hu/sport/focivilag/...17premier.html then that is your place

I have got to say, I really though Kewall would sign for Arsenal at one point, though he hasn't lived up to his Leeds days. Well your team should do a lot better than last year. I though Houllier was stifling the tem completly and needed to go. Benitez is a good manager, he will play attractive football and will win games. Though I don't think he will of been helped by Owen leaving so close to the deadline. If Baros gets injured, you could be in trouble.

Anyway, enjoy BigSoccer, it's quite friendly although there are a lot of sarcy buggers around. Come and post in the Arsenal forum when you want, just don't be silly there. There are plenty of Man U and Chelsea fans who are there every day because we are the biggest forum, so don't feel intimidated by anyone. Last of all, if you get stuck and want to ask anything, just send any of the Mods a message.

Cheers

Thats cool, I see how snipy everyone gets on the PRem boards
Its going to be hard for me or any other Aussies to keep supporting Pool or any other Prem club though because our Free to Air broadcaster SBS in Australia doesnt have enough money to pay for the rights from Foxtel(pay TV) to show The Premiership - so the only option now is to fork out the $30 a month to watch the beautiful game, or make a friend who has Foxtel already, or just keep drooling the match threads n this website

Its too bad, watching Henry, Gerrard, etc Should be Free !!!!
Sorry had to get that off mychest

Hey, at least you've had it free so far. All the Prem games in the Uk are on SkySports which you have to pay a bucketload for here. So your not the only one. Obviously I don't know how old you are, but can't you go to a pub to watch the games?
