If this is indded the call ups as KQQL has listed I would like to see both Maggio and Cristico start as fullbacks as it would give us tremendous pace on the outside.

    ----De Sanctis----
    Maggio----Canna----Chiellini---Cristico
    Montolivio----DeRossi----Pirlo----Marchissio
    Pazzini----Borriello

Nesta is going to get the call and will probably start in a 3 man defense with Cannavaro and Chiellini.

Interesting call up. I hope Capt. Morgan proves he's the real deal.

Santon is injured but i still think he has a chance.

Bonera just needed to stay fit and play since Lippi has a boner (see what i did there) for him.

No Nesta, but like Totti, i think he will be added to the squad later.

what is the deal with santon? does he keep getting injured every few weeks or is he just not playing? i get confused cuz some complain about him not playing then others say he's injured

btw, i'd love to see a borriello, di natale, pazzini trio up in the front

Santon is currently injured but is also not playing much when fit.

I'd probably say those are our most dangerous forwards at the moment. Would love to see those three called up along with Rossi and either Iaquinta or Gilardino as our forward unit for SA.

    Soooo...

    Bonucci - Cannavaro - Chiellini
Maggio - De Rossi - Pirlo - Criscito
Cossu - Borriello - Di Natale

Well, at the very least it'll be interesting to watch. And young/fit wide players!

I have a feeling this formation might actually work. Cossu who I admit have not seen much of is a good choice based on assist statistics.

The only thing (well, not the only, but one that stands out right away) is Pirlo in that midfield. I don't really trust him in a 4-4-2, let alone a 3-4-3 (although I'm not quite sure which will have less stress, due to 3 playing in front of the midfield vs. 3 defensive minded players at the back, if that evens out...if that makes sense).

I agree. I'd be more comfortable with Montolivo or D'Agostino playing there.

oh man Bonucci in wont be there it will be Legrotallie and Maggio is just filler for Cameranesi. Im suprised that Lippi didn't call up Candreva hes one of the few Juve players who deserves a call.

ya i gotta say in SA i think rossi is a must, but he's also not bad coming off bench. pazzini is inconsistent.

Of course when Juve decides to play a 3-4-3 Lippi thinks it's a neat idea...

But it actually looks pretty interesting. Looks like we might finally have some width.

That lineup is going to get brutalized in the central midfield because De Rossi and Pirlo aren't formidable enough defensively. With the Cannavaro of four years ago really pressing up almost as a libero, it could work. In present form there is no way Cannavaro will be able to stanch the attacks bleeding through the center. With Nesta instead of Cannavaro... hard to say.

Can't fault Lippi for imagination if he tries this though. I approve.

The Nesta news is bad. It's a little vindictive on his part--I think he felt he was never respected enough with the Azzurri. Maybe he'll enjoy seeing Italy go three and out because Cannavaro is going to be a disaster at the World Cup.

    Oy.
