He is a rightback. Made the bench in Jaguares loss to Cruz Azul in the first match of the 2010 Clausura.

Interesting. Where did he grow up and did he play any youth soccer in the US?

The article seems to indicate he was somehow affiliated with the Portland Timbers, though my high school Spanish is more then a little rusty.

I think I found him. Looks like he played with the Timbers' U-23 team this past season based on some match reports. Played mostly as a forward it looks like:

A bunch more of those. Played college soccer at Portland in 2007 and 2008. Looks like he didn't play in 2009.

The photo of his profile matches the one in the announcement Feilhaber/Adu posted. Frankie is on the far right.

Born in McMinnville, Ore., and attended McMinnville High School.

edit: Profile also mentions club soccer in Oregon at least back to 2001, when he was 12.

Looks like he didn't make the bench in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Toluca.

I'm not sure he's still with Jaguares. Anyone know his whereabouts?

My kid went to preschool with his HS coach's grandson (small world, huh?) and I met the grandad/coach at a birthday party and he said if I ever had any questions (or wanted to talk soccer) to let him know.

So, when I have time I'll drop him a line.

Cool dude, the HS coach. He and his wife had never been to Latin America before Lopez signed down there and now they've been down a couple times to visit him. The coach, btw, takes absolutely no credit for developing Lopez. The kid showed up at his HS already a very good player.

Still not seeing him on their roster page, though:

And didn't play on the 25th:

I'm not sure he had a team last season, but it appears he's now with Mexican club Deportivo Guamuchil.
