Default Southampton v Everton [R]

Saints 1 - EFC 0

Bollox. Another boring, scrappy, uncreative display by Everton against one of the weakest teams in the division. Looks like our early optimism will quickly be replaced by the usual relegation dogfight.

I listened to Southampton's webcast of the game (Everton's webcast is a little too dry for my taste and often has minutes on end of open-mike dead time) and was very disappointed by Moyes' behavior after the game.

Southampton's sideline reporter was waiting in the tunnel to the lockerroom area for a player interview, and in the background you can hear Moyes yelling "....f***ing..... ....f***ing..." at someone. Before embarassedly returning the broadcast back to the play-by-play announcer, the reporter mentioned that it was the referee who had been the object of Moyes' verbal attack.

I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see Moyes disciplined for this incident. It's presumably all on tape, and I would hope that the FA wouldn't tolerate its match officials being treated in this manner by either managers or players.
