Default Rock Hard Championship Challenge Cup -- Small Rocks and Very Small Rocks Fight It Out

The Rock Hard Championship Challenge Cup is an internal competition between the two drafted leagues on fantasy.premierleague.com -- Small Rocks and Very Small Rocks -- managed by 16 English Premier League nutters who like to get together on the BigSoccer Boards.

The tables below are sorted by draft order, in their respective leagues.

And so begins the pairings for the First Phase of the Challenge Cup.

==============
Small Rocks League
==============

Aviators -- Hal Jones
London St. Germain 3 -- Jonathan Ingram
Kopite Juniors -- Chloe Adams
Nocturnal United -- J. Darr
DC Chickenhawks -- J. Jones
WinningConnection -- Jonathan Chase
1800-France.com -- Jacques Santini
RamRod FC -- Justin Govo

==================
Very Small Rocks League
==================

The Class Acts -- Brian Alleyne
KC Dynamo -- Chris Meier
sporting-FC colombia -- wesley useche
TVDPhenomenons -- Tom K
Windsor Wanderers -- A. Giffen
Ajax Rick James FC -- Chris Totty
FC Springfield -- Andre Belelieu
Montreal United -- JM Fortin

First Phase :

The 1st phase involves teams in the same draft order playing each other, over 5 games -- commencing Gameweek 1 .

1. Aviators vs The Class Acts
2. London St. Germain 3 vs KC Dynamo
3. Kopite Juniors vs sporting-FC colombia
4. Nocturnal United vs TVDPhenomenons
5. DC Chickenhawks vs Windsor Wanderers
6. WinningConnection vs Ajax Rick James FC
7. 1800-France.com vs FC Springfield
8. RamRod FC vs Montreal United

All games are on neutral ground and and the team with the biggest point difference at the end of the five games is considered the winner of the head to head.

If points are tied, the team winning more games out of five will be the winner.

>> If there's still a tie, there will be a play-off on Gameweek 6. <<

In the event of this game being tied, the team making the least transfers will edge it. If it's still all square, the manager with the highest team value, going into Gameweek 6, will be the narrow winner.

Default Second Phase

Hopefully the 1st phase will give us an indication of who made the best of their draft position and early transfer strategy, as we move onto the next part of the rock cracking challenge.

The Second phase sees two groups of eight play each other 3 times.

Group A:
Seedings will decide themselves..... teams (winners and losers in phase one) play in the grey background coloured table cells (on the webpage).

Group B:
Similar, except these teams will play in the default background coloured table cells (on the webpage).

Full Fixtures and Groups will be announced when Phase One is completed.

Anyone may save a copy of the tables to their own computer, if they want to fill in results at home (or at work).... just like those World Cup pull-outs.

Default Second Phase Scoring

Teams get three points for a win and one for a draw.

Score differences of the matches will be used to separate teams on equal points.

If positions are tied on points and difference, at the end of the phase, placings will be decided according to the three-game, head to head contests.

With 21 games in each league, there's plenty of chance for managers to get a good seeding for the knockout stage, even if they get off to a bad start.

Quarter Finals -- Home and Away
Gameweeks 31 and 32

(Winner of 1 vs Winner of 5)
(Winner of 4 vs Winner of 8)

(Winner of 2 vs Winner of 6)

Default Re: Second Round Knockout Stage

I've been looking at the 2nd Round (Knockout stage) again..... and if there are no objections, may I propose we change.....

1) 1A vs 5B
5) 7B vs 3A
4) 4B vs 8A
8) 6A vs 2B

2) 6B vs 2A
6) 4A vs 8B
3) 7A vs 3B
7) 1B vs 5A

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> To <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

1) 1A vs 5B
5) 3B vs 7A
4) 4A vs 8B
8) 2B vs 6A

2) 2A vs 6B
6) 4B vs 8A
3) 3A vs 7B
7) 1B vs 5A

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I believe keeping the possibility of 1A vs 3A and 1B vs 3B out of the 1/4s and offering the possibilty of 1A vs 3B and 1B vs 3A appearing instead, is more interesting.
Likewise with 2B vs 4B and 2A vs 4A -- to a possibility of 2A vs 4B and 2B vs 4A.
When setting the match numbers out 1-8, I believe I meant to have A's in 1-4 (as in 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A) and mirror that with Bs in the other half of the draw.
The second grouping seems more logical.
Thoughts?
Default Re: Mistake & Updated Draw
Thanks, I've just looked closer at the Very Small Rocks draw thread and found that Hal was trying to throw me off the scent,
Hal
Did I make a mistake in aligning managers with teams with the BigSoccer name? The double blind draw used the BigSoccer names.
DutchFootballRulez was the manager selected for the 2nd pick and Helghallen was the manager paired up with the 6th pick in the first round. I apologize for any confusion. Please correct my team association with the manager
Round One and Odd Round draft order:
1. The Class Acts, managed by Brian Alleyne, United Forever (BigSoccer nick)
2. ________, managed by ______, DutchFootballRulez
3. sporting-FC columbia, managed by wesley useche, Ilovecolumbia
4. TVD Phenomenons, managed by Tom K, Tom Van Damn
5. Windsor Wanderers, managed by Andrew Giffin, subbuteo (I will be making Andrew's draft picks using his proxy.)
6. _______, managed by _________, Helghallen
7. Ibreak4coffee (To be changed to Springfield FC), managed by Andre Belelieu, Ibreak4coffee
8. Montreal United, managed by JM Fortin, Montreal United.
Thanks for pointing this out..... First Phase updated to read:
First Phase:
The 1st phase involves teams in the same draft order playing each other, over 5 games -- commencing Gameweek 1.
1. Aviators vs The Class Acts
2. London St. Germain 3 vs Ajax Rick James FC
3. Kopite Juniors vs sporting-FC colombia
4. Nocturnal United vs TVDPhenomenons
5. DC Chickenhawks vs Windsor Wanderers
6. WinningConnection vs KC Dynamo
7. 1800-France.com vs FC Springfield
8. RamRod FC vs Montreal United
