Yea, it really is extremely overrated. I personally know a lot of not-so-good players that make the ODP teams, and I know a lot of really good players who have never bothered with it.

In some states it is good. I think it is better for girls than guys personally. In Maryland it is really bad, but my friend's sister plays girls ODP and it will benefit her much more than it would if she was a male.

politico! soccer should be about playing and having fun. odp does its best to make is so the fun part is out and its only about 50% playing. odp definitely is overrated but is a good way to get into college...

odp is somewhat overrated and its politics mostly...i play odp this is my 3rd year...(i tryed out when i was 11 and made u-13 then i made it when i was 12) now im on u-14 and im 13...

odp is good though because you go to regional camp where they select the top players from the region. i went their this past july 9-14 and didnt get selected but i did real well

also you go to round robins against other states where scouts watch you!

so if your good odp is good cause of the opportunities it gives you...
