The only thing I can tell you is make sure you are warmed up well. Try to use other players to help you all warm up bring a ball. The first 100 touches are not going to be as good as the next hundred understand? So get the first 100 or 200 out of the way before the start of the tryout.
If they allow you a shirt that is not uniform wear one that the coach will remember. Coaches can get confused on which player did that nice play. So you might see them run on the field to get the right guys number and they get wrong guys number. Wear something as a top that they can identified as you right away if they allow you to wear different shirts at the try out.
Some coaches not many will make a coaching point to you. To see if you use them. I did if i did it I am interested in you so do it. Don't say yes and forget about it.
When playing in the warm up try to build up to game related speed as much as you can.
There are a lot of little things that impress coaches even if they are not looking for them. They see them they remember you.
One is they you can make a good cross from the left side. You can do that even if your not left footed. Get the ball turn away from goal side while your turning away from the defender back to goal you can do a lot of things you can use your right foot to back pass you continue to turn you can use your right foot to cross the ball from the left side and continue turning a little more you can try a shot at the far post from the left side with your right foot.
Beginning of tryouts usually are small sided keep aways do good in those.
5 v 5 keep away play away from pressure.
Tackle hard win the ball hustle push yourself at the right times.
Communicate with team mates keep it simple show you can be a leader. Do your communicating when you don't have the ball.
If you play full side in tryout
Team mates comes to you you pass him the ball let him no whether he can turn up field or not once he touches the ball. Scan the field before you get the ball so you can make a good first touch or you can tell the dribble where to pass. Give good info not crap asking for the back pass to you as soon as the dribbler gets the ball is crap.
If your a back and are more then man up when your team has the ball and can attack space do it. No pass get back. If another back attacks space he will leave a hole to counter attack against. You over shift into that hole of space. Tell the other backs to overshift with you then your a leader. So only counter space is far from the ball.
Think about your support positiong when you farther from the ball expecailly when you are behind the ball. Makes you look organized because you are.
Don't leave the team mate with the ball isolated. If you farely close to the dribbler get closer a little bit a step behind him for depth and away from the pressure side. You became a safe outlet pass for the dribbler who is under pressure your the second attacker. Have an idea what you want to do if the opass is made to you. get a lot ot touches from the second attacker positioning.
After tryout tell the coach thank you you enjoy the tryout. Let him know you would dig playing on the team. You want him to remember you.
