Default Very Small Rocks Official Draft Thread

We'll continue to use the Very Small Rocks Season thread from last season until we get the two additional managers to fill out this League. Then I'll conduct a double blind draw to determine the draft order and post it in this thread.

I'll be posting the draft instructions in this thread also, which includes sending me a PM or an email on how to reach you to alert you of when it's your move. (email, IMs, and phone preferred)

I'll be making the proxy picks for subbuteo (Andrew).

If we get the two additional managers by Friday, the intent is to commence this draft on Friday.

Now that we have 8 managers registered for the Very Small Rocks League, I conducted a double blind draw to establish the draft order. I put managers names in one pot and draft order in another pot and had my wife do the honors of selecting one from each pot until the draft was established.

The following is the draft order for the odd rounds, 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15: (Even rounds will have the reverse order)

Round 1 and all odd rounds' Draft Order:

1. The Class Acts, managed by Brian Alleyne, United Forever (BigSoccer nick)
2. KC Dynamo, managed by Chris Meier, DutchFootballRulez
3. sporting-FC columbia, managed by wesley useche, Ilovecolumbia
4. TVD Phenomenons, managed by Tom K, Tom Van Damn
5. Windsor Wanderers, managed by Andrew Giffin, subbuteo (I will be making Andrew's draft picks using his proxy.)
6. Ajax Rick James FC, managed by Chris Totty, Helghallen
7. Ibreak4coffee (To be changed to Springfield FC), managed by Andre Belelieu, Ibreak4coffee
8. Montreal United, managed by JM Fortin, Montreal United.

Round 2 and all even rounds' Draft Order

1. Montreal United
2. Springfield FC
3. Ajax Rick James FC
4. Windsor Wanderers
5. TVD Phenomenons
6. sporting-FC columbia
7. KC Dynamo
8. The Class Acts

We will conduct the draft in two locations to account for the possibility of BigSoccer being busy.

Each manager will post one team draft thread in the Fantasy PremierLeague Forum, then update that thread with each pick. We can only have 10 threads before that forum deletes them, so each manager should only make posts in his own thread. Other managers can check the thread to see if it is their turn yet.

Each manager will also post their selection, added to a cumulative draft selection in this BigSoccer draft thread. After each round or two, I will post a combined overall draft post, which will include the amount of salary cap remaining. This way, managers don't have to go back and review posts from several pages before the last page.

Suggest you subscribe to this draft thread so you get sent email notifications of new posts to this thread. I also suggest you set up your BigSoccer PM to alert you with an email when you get a PM.

After you make your pick, PM the next manager that it is his turn.

Here is the post I suggest you create with your first draft pick and then just cut and paste and add the latest pick:

The draft is scheduled to commence at 8 AM CST or 9 AM EST on this Friday, the day after tomorrow. As the draft order is known, nothing prevents the manager with the known first pick, Brian and his The Class Acts, from posting his selection earlier. And if he does, the second manager to pick might also start before the online draft official start time. Maybe, informally, as managers are online over the next couple of days, we can get in a Round or two before the official start time. Some managers, though, may still need this time to do their research.

Please, please, either be online or arrange for a proxy manager to make your selections so we can keep the draft moving. It should take no more than 15 minutes per pick. That's enough time to catch up on who has been selected since your last pick and make your decision on whom to select.

As I have unlimited minutes on my cell phone, I will feel free to call you to alert you that you are on the clock. It's not a rigid clock (lol). During the workday, some managers may take an hour. After an hour though, your turn will be skipped for that round and you'll have the opportunity to make two picks at your next scheduled turn. This is where it is important to have a proxy arranged to make picks if you can't stay glued online.

If you have to leave for a little while without a proxy arranged, PM me and email me (to cover the situation where BigSoccer is BUSY) your next few preferred picks. Provide more than just enough for your pick as some of your preferred picks might be selected by other managers. I note that I have accepted the proxy picks, but I don't open the PM until it is your turn to preclude it influencing me on the picks I'm making for others.

Did I make a mistake in aligning managers with teams with the BigSoccer name? The double blind draw used the BigSoccer names.

DutchFootballRulez was the manager selected for the 2nd pick and Helghallen was the manager paired up with the 6th pick in the first round. I apologize for any confusion. Please correct my team association with the manager
