as annoying as a ball hog
i dont consider this type of player to be a ball hog, but dont you just hate guys who dribble and go nowhere? they pass the ball, but when they dribble they go nowhere, yet they insist on getting ten useless touches on the ball before passing it. or on a counter attack, they'll pass it to the wrong person and completely kill the the play. or every time they pass it , they put their teammates in a difficult position. just cant stand these guys.

Re: as annoying as a ball hog
it depends if when the player gets the ball, and then makes space for himself.. there for making his next pass or move easier because he's making the defense come to him.. but if he constantly turns the ball over then i see what you mean..

Re: as annoying as a ball hog
what i dislike more than a someone who holds onto the ball to long is someone who "hates" fellow teammates. talk to him about it in a kind way instead of talking about him on the internet lol

Re: as annoying as a ball hog
i know of players who like to have several touches on the ball before he makes passes. its very frustrating. try talking to him about it...best time is half time or after the game. try to understand if he is having problems
does he do it in training? is it carrying an injury? i remember a few feedbacks i got from these players were:
1. jersey colours. "opponents wearing black, we are wearing dark blue, very difficult"
2. team-mates not supporting him. everybodny else is running away instead of running towards him.
but then again, is it his control of the ball or first touch that is letting him down that he needs extra touches.

Re: as annoying as a ball hog
no no this guy jus dribbles and goes nowhere. and he's not a teammate, he shows up sometimes at pick up games. he gets the ball, dribbles. he goes nowhere. then hes closed down by somoeone. .then he runs away. then he gets a chance to pass. but he keeps dribbling. but also, he doesn'tt advance much, he most dribbles horizontonally or into his own part of the field. then when he passes it, he gives a ball that either favors the defender or is a 50-50. either tha tor he loses it. he gets support he just chooses not to pass, and it's not the dark colors either(i know what that's like though, i have terrible eyesight and ran out of contacts.)

i have the same exact problem, a fellow team mate just touches the ball too many few times and puts him in spots where its almost impossible to past the ball, but decides to force it through with a crappy pass or gets blocked. For example, traps the ball, looking straight towards you, pulls it so he faces away from you, then decides to force it back to you with the outside foot which gets blocked. I tell him he should have just made the first pass, but argues back with a "i don't even have control yet so what you want me to do?". Everytime I make a bad pass, this guy purposely trys to pist you off by saying things to you when you make a bad pass. I seriously hate these kind of people. I'm not even trying to yell at them, I'm just trying to give them advice on what they should have done. All they have to do is just listen to my advice, but they probaby think since we are the same age and all, that we are equally talented, and that I probably don't know what I'm saying and just purposely yelling at them. That's the overall part that I don't fricken understand. This pists the hell out of me when all I want is for people to understand me.

complaining about a player in a pickup game? Give me a break, they will by definition get all different skill levels, he's there, he wants to play, probably wants to learn, help him out.
