I'm not joking. Often, one beer gets rid of my worst headaches. Obviously, this isn't an option if you are at work or something, but at home at night, works beautifully.

Totally depends on the headache. Where specifically does it hurt?

You see, some of what was suggested would make certain headaches worse.
For example, cluster headaches get worse with alcohol or rest. They c/would get better with vigorous exercise. Strange, but true.

Other headaches could simply go away rather quickly by drinking water or a gentle massage on the back of the neck.

Real quick? Two Tylenol extra-strength and two Advil with 8 oz. of water. No interactions between the two, works on most migraines.

If you get headaches frequently, examine why you might be getting them.
1) Stress
2) Computer monitor is too close
3) Diet
4) Insufficient water intake

Stress is the number one cause of headaches. Anything from meeting deadlines to being a fan of Manchester United can bring a boomer of a headache on, even after getting rid of one medicinally.

Many people do not follow the recommended guidelines for the proper position of a computer monitor. Even LCD's can cause some problems. Some people crank the brightness setting up so high that it illuminates the neighborhood. Keep these things in mind.

You are what you eat. Researchers have made a connection between Magnesium and headaches. They found people who failed to take in an insufficient amount of magnesium were more suceptable to headaches. If you're not eating greens, start. If you are, stop eating the canned variety and start eating the fresh greens; and steam them, don't boil them.

Your body needs water and will take it from any source your body has it, including your brain. Your body is 75% water. Start giving it what it needs. I know your taste buds want Coke or Pepsi, but your body needs water.

I cut my head off with a chainsaw and I don't have a headache anymore. But it is a pain lugging my head around.
