Indubitably! Take two eyes of newt and call an apothecary in the morning! A good bleeding afterward should cure what ails you!

My best advice is that you need to stretch out that area at the beginning of the day, before you go to sleep and before a game. And also probably going to physical therapist wouldn't hurt either.

A doctor would be the best thing to do, that or a physiotherapist. You could probably try resting it for a bit, maybe some ice/heat, but goto the doc again and they'll give ya the best advice.

I have similar problems, not everytime I play, but sumtimes I don't warm-up properly (punishes u more with age, believe!) and sorta over-streth sumhow. It reallt pisses me off as a self-induced back-strain isn't reason to come off, as u know u can still kick fine, but it makes ur mobility reduced, and basically ruins the game for me.
Im not sure how best to alleviate this, but I do have a back-assessment booked at my gym. They got these new inversion tables in, and for no extra cost im basically gonna hve sum1 look at my back, check the alignment of my spine, then design me a programme to correct any anomalies. Even if my back is fine, the usage of inversion (basically a way to hang upside down but without having to strain to support urself) is supposed to increase flexibility whilst reducing risk of injury etc.
Any1 else thats tried/regularly used this, let me kno, and I'll post my findings next week and when the season starts again proper.

Oh yeah, and my advise, if avoidable, DO NOT play with painkillers. I know it's almost standard (Esp. in US sports), but they just treat the symptom, not the cause. They block the brains ability to understand that the body's telling it that it's in pain. Pain is produced when the body is doing summit it doesn't wanna be. If u use drugs to numb urself from ur bodys cry's for help, u simply risk exaccerbating the problem.
