And the search for a new coach begins
According to this rumor, the front office is looking at offering the job to Martin Vasquez. Do you belive Vasquez will be a diffrence maker? And do you think we will see Suarez as his assistant? who else do you belive will be on his staff?

Re: And the search for a new coach begins
goal.com link on Vasquez
Good move by Chivas USA if this comes true. Martin knows the league and the club inside out. I don't see us dropping off too much with a new coach if we can keep the core players.
I think Marsch or Lamosa should be fine as assistants. Marsch has been our captain for 3 years solid, and has that ability to motivate players around him.
BTW a little trivia on Preki's career with Chivas USA. I'm sure he'll find work anywhere in MLS or USMNT.
MLS record
2007:15-8-7
2008: 12-7- 11
2009: 13-6-11
Total: 40-21-29
Open Cup - out at first round 07, 08, 09
SuprLiga - out at group play 08, 09
CONCACAF - out at qualification stage 08
MLS Cup - out at first round 07, 08, 09
3 assistant coches: Llamosa, Matkovich, Vasquez
Thanks for everything Preki. We'll miss your protruding chin and your uncontrollable rage. Preki - "youuh maderfakehrs"

Re: And the search for a new coach begins
my predictions--
Preki ends up in NY
Vasquez ends up here with a new asst coach.
I would love to see martin bring Mauricio Cienfuegos in as his asst. coach
no matter what happens the team will be better off with a enw head coach next season. Preki was a good coach but he has lost the team.

Cienfuegos would be awesome.
Cienfuegos working with Lahoud/Mayen/Chucky/Flores would be EPIC!

If this is true, the club has made an excellent choice. I'm praying that our club finally made the right move.

Re: And the search for a new coach begins
It's official....
CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH PREKI LEAVES CLUB BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT
CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009) – Chivas USA announced today that Head Coach Preki has left the club by mutual agreement. Preki, whose contract with Chivas USA expires at the end of this year, will pursue other coaching opportunities, and Chivas USA will immediately begin its search for the club’s next head coach.
“Preki has brought a great deal of success to this team, and is an important part of our history,” said Chivas USA Vice President of Soccer Operations Stephen Hamilton. “His dedication and expertise have led us to the playoffs in each of his seasons here, and we owe him our thanks for all he has given the club. We wish him the very best as he moves into the next phase of his coaching career.”
Preki Radosavljevic was named Chivas USA's fourth Head Coach on Jan. 17, 2007, replacing former Chivas USA boss Bob Bradley, after serving as assistant to Bradley during the 2006 MLS season. A two-time MLS Most Valuable Player and one of the most prolific attacking players in league history, Preki earned MLS Coach of the Year honors in 2007, his first season as a head coach at the professional level. He qualified for the playoffs in each of his three seasons in charge of the Red-and-White, and is the longest-serving Head Coach in team history.
“It has been an honor to be a part of the Chivas USA family for the last four years,” said Preki. “In my time here I have grown as a coach, and I am proud of our accomplishments. While I am excited to take the next step in my career, I will always have good memories of my time with Chivas USA.”

What will happen to Percovich? I really like that guy, and he is one of the reasons Zack Thornton made a comeback.
