Default Hey Boston: Banshee or Phoneix Landing?

Question for the Boston based people on these boards...

Do you prefer The Banshee or the Phoenix Landing for watching soccer? You prefer somewhere else? Are you like brduvel and long for the days of The Swan (RIP) in Kendall Square? Maybe you remember going to games at the Midwest Grill off of Inman Square. Perhaps you were one of the many who stayed up late into the wee hours watching the 2002 World Cup at the Thirsty Scholar.

We've had a great run of away games (and USA) viewings at The Banshee this year. They've hooked us up with free food and drink specials on a consistent basis. We were never turned away from watching a game there. Are people happy with the situation there? Want to change venues for next year?

Tell us your pros and cons of each place.

I'm more of a "rarely go into Boston to watch," but the locations I'm most likely to go on the weekend are Kennedy's or the Elephant and Castle.

I have some memories of watching 2002 World Cup games at the Overdraught in Cambridge. Also that was the place we watched the 2003 ECF final at also I believe.

I am content with The Banshee. My only complaint has to do with some of the bartenders downstairs dissing the Revs and MLS, but that is pretty minimal. Overall, I feel like they want us to be there and it isn't too hard to get to. It is nice that there is parking on the streets nearby if you want to drive or easy access from the red line. I guess my only other complaint would be lack of visibility since we are upstairs by ourselves. It doesn't hurt to have people seeing that people actually go out to watch the Revs. At the same time, it is nice that we know that we will have enough room. I say stick with The Banshee, unless somewhere else offers something else like hooker and blow, or cupcakes.

Six of one, half-dozen of the other.

There is not much difference between the two, but the Landing is where I saw the Revs win their first Cup ever and Spurs win the League Cup in 2007 over Chelsea.

The Swan (single emo tear)...

I have not been to many viewings recently, but it looks like the Banshee is working out better, and it would be nice to have someplace work for more than one season in a row.

Never to be repeated

I like the Banshee. Having the upstairs to ourselves, the food, its nice. As jwoo said the attitude of some of the regulars and staff isn't the best but that's going to happen anywhere we go. Also, like Mike said, I'd like to go to one place for more than season in a row.

You just liked the Swan because you go through a rock from your house and hit it. You never brought any of Santos' grapes either. Dick!
