It has been posted, but I personally think it's well worth another thread :D Really makes you feel good, especially for Honduras.

For the other side of the coin, has anyone seen or heard a recording of a Costa Rican station's broadcast of the end of the US game?

Check out Honduran TV's call of the goal, equally emotional (fast forward to 6:40 to see the corner kick):

This is Costa Rica TV, looooooong silence after the goal before it's announced (LOL). Fast forward to 6:20 to see the corner kick:

I've never heard such euphoric emotion from a commentator after a USA goal before, and it wasn't even coming from an American...

    Oh My.....
    Oh Dear.....

You need to be half dead not to be moved by that type of emotional outpouring.

    God Bless those people.

I like how the Central American commentators don't care about being impartial. Totally different than what you see here.

I would love to have a homer announcer. Every country pretty much has one and it's cool when they refer to the team as "we" as in the whole country. Maybe I'm in the minority though.

Agreed. Sports are fun and I think it's more entertaining when the announcers are biased.

Too bad the overall American sporting culture is scared to death of "homers."

We had one in Jack Edwards, and BS Nation basically ran him out of town on a rail...:(

You would have to have a soul of stone not to enjoy that call.

This made me think of the famous footage about the "Shot Heard around World" when the New York Baseball Giants won the pennant in 1951 over the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Thanks for posting the Honduras footage.

I'd love to see the rest of that PTI segment.

The Honduras TV guy surely wet his pants.

Awesome! I am following Honduras as my second team in the WC. USA is the beastly beast of the beasts though! :D

me too man, that was really something, i'm not sure i've seen a US commentator react like to a us goal, the closest would be jack edwards when donovan scored vs. mex in 02.

but this goal here was very special

yes, the commentator choose 9 to honor charlie davis since he didn't get one of those signs

still though, hearing the costa rican commentary was heartbreaking, i'll be pulling for them agianst uruguay! would be great to have 4 NAM teams in the WC again!

In terms of pure emotion, the only call that touches this is the Dutch commentator calling the Dennis Bergkamp goal in 1998 against Argentina.

These guys were the only ones who pointed out that it was a 10-man USA team that did the deed.

I just went back and watched the game and then watched all of these and had a GREAT morning. So I am bumping this in hopes that someone else will have the same great morning I did.
