It's been reported that Norberto Ochoa, little brother of Jesus, Sammy and Armando, has been on trial in Belgium with Brugge.

But has he signed? It looks like he hasn't -- or, at least, I haven't been able to confirm anything yet.

If you happen to know, please holler.

Norberto is a 1990, according to the DA:

Here is an article about Armando. It mentions Norberto is playing with Brugge but like you said it can't be confirmed.

There is this from a Club Brugge fan blog.

YA gets confirmation. Trial; no deal as yet:

"[Norberto] is here on trial but has not signed a contract," Luc Verweirder, Club Brugge's press officer told YA.

    ...

"I'm not sure how long he has been here or how long he will stay," Verweirder continued.

    Stacked family is right.

The latest two editions seemed to come from nowhere though.

If Norberto is a 90, Armando must be an 89 since the YA article says he's 19.

Just looked at their site and he definitely did not play in the Westerlo match, it must have been a reserve game.

I was thinking the same thing. The Belgian league is in season right now and you can't play for the first team during the season unless you are contracted to the club.

Yes he scored but it wasn't for the first team as the article/interview leads us to believe.

I'm assuming this is an extended trial. He seems to be doing well. Hopefully something permanent can come out of it.

Good for him. I hope he's making an impression and will be rewarded. It looks like fellow Yank, Jared Jeffery got the start and played 45 minutes as well.

Was this a league game in which he played with the first team?

And can we assume he's now actually signed a contract?

I can't tell what's going on. He's not listed on the club's roster page, but those aren't always updated during the season by all clubs.

He started a recent match against AA Gent:

Club: Lenaerts – Michiels, Savaete, Guiro, Cleber (79’ D’Haene) – Voskanian, Van Acker, Jonckheere – Jeffrey (89’ Heymans), Ochoa (70’ De Cuyper), Meeus (79’ De Rechter).

Couldn't tell if that was a friendly or what... Could have been a league match, since they are in the same league:

The TDS article said the OOstende game was a friendly. I've played with Belgium clubs in Football Manager and got friendly game requests even during the season from other belgian clubs.

This game you are referencing is a reserve team match. The first team played Gents as well beating them 1-0 on Saturday. I assume the reserve team game was a day before or a day after the 1st team encounter.

I would also assume Ochoa was signed. Other wise that would be a pretty lengthy trial as he's played numerous games over the course of a month.

    hi,
i'm a fan of club brugge, and i can confirm that he was on trial with us at first, but he could convince the team with his good results, so he was signed by club brugge. he isn't part of the first team yet, but plays very well with the reserves together with jared jeffrey who is actually part of the first team but didn't play an official match with them so far, so only at friendly's and with the reserves
