Default England Update

Robinson, Mills, Smith, Woodgate, and Bowyer have all been called into the 20-man squad to face portugal at Villa Park this saturday at 3pm BST.

Should be fun.... There are only 3 strikers total, so i expect Smith to have a lot of time.

only James is the other keeper so Robbo will get 45 min i think.

England 1 - 1 Portugal

of course the goal was scored by Alan Smith. And guess who crossed it to him? No one else than Lee Bowyer. Mills had a good match at right back, and Woody had a quiet time at centreback, only making a few key tackles when required

Smith was also MOTM by sky.

Smith - 90min
Bowyer - 60min
Mills - 45 min (1'st half)
Woodgate - 45 min (2'nd half)

Robinson - 0 minutes

Robinson, Mills, Woodgate, and Smith called up for qualifier against Slovakia and Macedonia.

Matteo is out 2 weeks, he is having the joint in his knee cleaned out tomorrow.

Woody starts in the centre of defence alongside Southgate today against Slovakia.

Mills is replaced by Gary Neville (that's a slap in the face) and Robbo is of course on the bench while Seaman starts. There is no concrete news on Smith yet, but rumour has it that he will also be on the bench (even though he should start in my opinion)

Robinson didn't make the bench.
Mills stayed on the bench.
Woodgate played 90min and did quite well
Smith played started on the bench, but came on late in the match. He came on so late that he only played half a second (i'm not joking, i timed it.) there were 4 min of injury time and he came on at 4.10 about. The ref blew the whistle just after seaman kicked the ball for the restart.

Its been reported that Southgate will make way for Sol Campbell. That means Sol/Woody at the back.

Not sure about Mills or Smith's status yet, but people are calling out for Smith to start.
