Saints Summer Transfer Targets
Who should Southampton look at bringing in this summer? Sturrock has said he wants a larger squad. And he's also said that he's wanted some defensive wingers so Anders can run the midfield.
Who's on their way in?
And at that, who's on the way out?

Re: Saints Summer Transfer Targets
Sky is reporting that Jelle van Damme is considering a move to Southampton. I like the kid and wouldn't blame him for leaving Ajax to play in the premeirship. I just wonder to what extent we need more defenders with Hall, Svensson, Claus, Higginbotham, Le Saux, Crainey, and of course Dodd all playing in the back. he could fill in nicely for Le Saux, though.

Re: Saints Summer Transfer Targets
And here is where the rumor started with Beattie hinting that he may need to move to a bigger club to get an England call up. Pretty sad when he can still put the ball in the back of the net another 15 or so times and doesnt' get an England call up nor bought by a big club while a hack like Alan Smith can get more cards than goals, get the big move, and get capped by Sven.

Saints linked with Beasely
And now football365.com is carrying the rumor that Southampton just may be interested in buying Beasley.

"...And Southampton are keeping tabs on Chicago Fire's 22-year-old American left winger DaMarcus Beasley."

Re: Saints Summer Transfer Targets
Looks like Saints will have to wait for Mikael Nilsson until December when the Swedish season is over + his contract is up.

Re: Saints Summer Transfer Targets
And Williamson has been loaned out to Wycombe for the year. Great move on the part of the Saints and Mike. Surely playing for Tony Adams will teach him a thing or ten about defense.

Re: Saints Summer Transfer Targets
Horrible rumour floating around, and has even appeared on the OS, that we are in the race to sign Peter "7 foot 10, diabolical, former skate" Crouch.
Saints go fishing for skate?
Not good news, I can't see how it advances our squad. We have Beats, SKP, Marian and Brett, with Dexter Blackstock coming through and now we are looking at Crouch - can't see it happening to be honest.
