Where is the Emile Heskey thread?
Quite surprised that there is no discussion of your club's record signing.

Re: Where is the Emile Heskey thread?
They`ve just spent £6m on a striker who rarely scores and who the England coach has just said isn`t world class, would you want to talk about it. It spoils the incredible bargain they`re getting with having Forsell on loan for two seasons.
Edit: Considering my team paid £5.5m for Peter Crouch and £6m on Bosko Balaban, I`ll say no more about Heskey.

Re: Where is the Emile Heskey thread?
I've never been a big fan of Heskey, but Steve Bruce tends to get the best out of players in his mold. Somehow, players work harder for S. Bruce than they do for most other managers. I'm giving him a few matches before I make up my mind. If he can click with Forssell, then he's worth it. Like S. Bruce said, he doesn't have to score the goals, he has to make them happen. I'm betting he puts it in the net often enough to justify the money.
Wow, 4 posts on one subject on the BCFC board. This hasn't happened since Dugarry left.

Re: Where is the Emile Heskey thread?
You guys all underestimate Emile Heskey. Just wait until he plays for you next season and he's the only man on the field giving 110% effort the whole 90 minutes, fighting for the cause.

I don't think either Crouch or Balaban are international players.
As for Heskey rarely scoring: The roles he was given to play at Anfield really didn't give him the chance to play striker. GH had him as a support role anywhere but where he should have been. Like dbiesecker said, pehaps Bruce will give him his confidence back as a striker, or perhaps he'll stay as target man and help create.
He could play well with Forssell.

Re: Where is the Emile Heskey thread?
Heskey has never been the guy that's going to put the ball in the back of the net 15+ times a year. As to why Liverpool spent money on him as though he were, who really knows. I do know that I don't envy clubs facing him pairing up with Forsell. Now Birmingham need a midfielder capable of putting in 10 or so goals and it's hello UEFA Cup.
