Holy grail YP
Everyone is always hoping for that excellent skill 17 yo. Have you ever considered what you would do with him if you got one?
I have thought long and hard about this. He goes up for sale, no matter if he is a PM. I wouldn't be able to train him effectively and he would be worth more to me with the money his sale would bring in. Who knows, might end up as a nats player that way.

Re: Holy grail YP
At this point of my hattrick playing in lowly series IV.28 and with only a passable coach I would have to sell.
You are probably looking at $2M for a 17 Excellent PM, I couldn't resist transferring him.
Now if I was in ML and had a solid coach and a better bank balance, then I might think differently.

Re: Holy grail YP
I too at this point, would sell him. If things go the way I want them to in the future, meaning I save the money for a solid coach, then I would keep him and train him up to a good level. At this moment though, selling an excellent IM and like Mark said, getting about 2 million for him, would allow me to get the coach I want so that I could keep the next one. Which at this rate, I'll get one in 10 years and the second some 20 years after that.

Re: Holy grail YP
I finally pulled a 17 yo excellent playmaker about 6 weeks ago after playing Hattrick almost 10 full seasons. In the past I always figured I'd sell him, but I pulled him right as I was overhauling my training program. He fit right in, and I'm maximizing training to see how far I can get him over the next 2-3 seasons.
After 5-6 weeks of training he's still excellent. I had hopes of getting two level increases before he turns 18. Not gonna happen now with only 6 weeks or so of training left.
Unfortunately his secondaries suck.

Re: Holy grail YP
I would definitally keep him and he'd be a starter on my team cuz I don't have anyone with a skill above 'solid' right now...

Actually if you sold him, you could probably get 2 maybe even 3 decent players with the revenue he brings in, depending on the time of season and seconadry skills.
