Default Ta gueule Aulas! (STFU Aulas!)

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has hit out at the French League's decision to move Monaco's final game of the season forward to aid their UEFA Champions League final preparations.

Monaco's game with Bordeaux has been brought forward 48 hours to enable Didier Deschamps men as much time as possible to prepare for their meeting with Porto.

"Once again Lyon is penalized in that case. I was keen to favour Monaco without disadvantaging l'OL," lamented Aulas.

"I am sad about that. It is not fair."

Also, let's be real, the tax issue vis-a-vis Monaco vs the rest of Ligue 1 is a real issue, whether or not Monaco are doing well; Morientes went to Monaco for two reasons: CL and its tax-free, and that's not competitive.

did Elber go to Lyon because they are tax free ? Did Marseille make the UEFA Cup final because they are tax free ? Looks pretty competitive to me. Lyon and Marseille are doing really well along with Monaco without tax advantages. Monaco has had tax advantages for a long time now and they only have one Champions League final and 8 league titles to show for it. The other teams have been more than competitive with them so it shows their advantages arent as big a deal as people say.

Aulas is full of it. The LFP has been great at accommodating French teams in European play. Lyon has benefitted from this all well.

Boohoo...Aulas is one sad man...

Hey, Lyon can't complain. If they had been in the CL final, they would have beneficiated of the same treatment. Then, such a decision would have been the greatest.

I really hate when someone complains of a situation when he would appreciate the same thing if he needed them.

The funniest part is that it could turn out to their advantage. Say Monaco lose or draws(probable since Bordeaux is in form), then Lyon would get on the pitch sure of what to achieve.

Predictions...

After Lyon lose against PSG this weekend, he'll blame the league and the refs saying that the fix is in to produce a more exciting league finish...

Next year after Lyon loses the derby against St-Etienne, he'll blame the fact that St. Etienne have an unfair advantage since they have much better fans...

And the most certain one is... Aulas will complain that something somewhere blocks his plan to make Lyon the new Real Madrid...
