Default Villa's European Football Hopes

Well this year is the first time in a while that Villa finally has a chance to go to European Football. Its amazing since last year we barely made it out of relegation. So guys what do you think are chances are of us going to the Champions League. We have Tottenham, Southampton, and Man U left with the only away game at Southampton. We should be able to handle the Spurs and Southhampton and we are playing Man U at home. So two wins would be nice and two wins with a draw would be even better. One thing going for us is that Liverpool and Newcastle square off together on the last match of the year. It will definatly be an exciting last month.

I have to think it's there if we want it bad enough. We need nine points to force the hand of Liverpool & Newcastle. The final day will be big, the best we could hope for would be if ManU is locked into 2nd place, damn it hurts to say that.

Thumbs up Re: Villa's European Football Hopes

one thing is sure about this campaign - the 03/04 season video will be a villa supporters' collectors item!
i predict next season if we enter the uefa we will go close - semis, who knows, as mr o'leary is obviously charmed we might even win it.
champions league would be out of this world and i have a sneaky feeling we could well do it on the last day of the season as our remeaining fixtures are against lesser teams - with the excpetion of man u on the last day - but villa always do good on the last day of any season so i fancy a win there. The uefa cup would be welcome return to europe in any supportes book i rekon.

The Spurs game is a tough one because everyone will expect us to win. We usually fail to win when that`s the case. Also our home form has dipped recently. Since Birmingham it`s been Draw, Loss, Draw, Win, Draw. One win in five isn`t too good. A draw against Spurs is possible since they still need a couple of points to be sure of avoiding relegation and may be up for it.

Ah finally something to look forward to in the last games of the season. Not since those league cups and that oh so close 2nd place have we had something to play for apart from Norwich 1-1 (close!!!).

My hope is that we beat Man U last game of the season and Liverpool win against Newcastle only after Liverpool drop points in two of there last games what a finish that would be. Then all in all we end up in Champions League.

Okay what i really think is gonna happen we qualify fo UEFA Cup after Newcaste beat Liverpool last game of season.
