new Low for Zimbabwe
The humiliation of the new "expurgated" Zimbabwe cricket team continued at Harare Sports Club as they crashed to 35 all out, the lowest total ever recorded in a one-day international.
There was none of the hustle, bustle and excitement that usually exists at one-day internationals in Harare, and the ground has probably never been emptier for such a match, with perhaps only 500 spectators present. The public showed what they thought of the current crisis by staying away in droves. And the events today should ensure that the ground is empty for the two remaining matches, on Tuesday and Thursday.
Sri Lanka 40 for 1 beat Zimbabwe 35 all out (Vaas 4-12, Maharoof 3-3) by nine wickets
All-Time Lowest ODI scores

Re: new Low for Zimbabwe
just when things couldn't get worse.....
15 rebels fired
Streak and 14 others dropped for failing to show up to work by may 7th. not that the aussie tour there woul dall too exciting, but now it really makes them going there pointless/worthless.

Shane Warne will have the chance to get some very cheap test wickets, Glenn McGrath can make his comeback under no pressure and our batsman can boost their batting averages... that's about all this tour has to offer.
And if Zimbabwe think we'll take it easy on them just because they're not going to field the best side, they can think again!

Re: new Low for Zimbabwe
May looks to intervene
player's rep looks to stop Australia's tour of Zimbabwe from becoming the most farcical mismatch in Test history.
i am sorry scousecat but as the way it stands now, it will be an utterly rediculous tour. from what would be threads saying "zimbabwe are worthless at batting/bowling... not worthy to play australia.... are worse than bangladesh-- to whats the point of being there if they aren't playing their top side, a side that is no match for them?
sure shane will get a ton of wickets, macgrath has the easiest setting for a return, but this isn't the way it should be done.

Zimbabwe's strongest side is no match for Australia, and it's not our fault if they cant put their best team out onto the ground for various political reasons. I know the tour is pointless, but why shouldn't Australian players have the opportunity of playing the weaker sides as well? And not only that, why shouldn't the Zimbabwe public be able to see the best cricketers in the world tour their country?
Now of course I'd prefer to play their strongest side, but you can only play the opposition put before you and if we have to face a 3rd rate Zimbabwe team, then so be it.
