Laces kick problem
My problem - I've got big feet (11) and when I try to do a straight drive with the sweet spot (laces) my toes hit the ground. And when I kick it so that the toes don't hit the fround - the contact area with the ball is too weak to hit a powerful drive ( the part between the sweet spot and the toes). Does anyone have any tips? I wish I had small feet like Roberto Carlos!

i assume this isn't a joke about having big hands as well.
have you tried approaching the ball from more of angle so that your foot and leg are at more of a 70 degree angle with the ground, as opposed to straight on at a 90 degree angle?
i personally find this more comfortable in any event, although i suspect it will take a while to get used to it if it is totally new.
of course, if that doesn't work, you can always cut off or otherwise bind your toes

There is no way to help - I think it is pretty commonly written in soccer books that if you wear more than a 10 size boot, you will hit the ground if you go streight in. You have to hit at an angle, "soccer style" as the people in the NFL say.

I wear a size 10 shoe and I hit it at a bit of an angle. It's just as effective and you can also bend it very well if you hit it right.

They wear big shoes.

Laces kick problem
Try leaning over the ball a lot that is what i do when my feet hit the ground, you get lots of power and a nice low shot. I only wear a 9.5 though, and hitting the ground has never been a real problem, just something that happens on bad days and hurts me.

i've got big feet, and this is why i love a ball in the air... i can get full wood without having to worry about hitting the carpet
it's usually not a problem, but occasionally i will do the carpet trick and nail my foot... usually it sprains my ankle a bit
