Pompey vs. Man United [R]
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/foot...em/3615835.stm
Faye, Primus and Pasanen are all doubtful. Hoping to see Todorov get a run today but I doubt it. You can never be too confident when you are going up against any of the Big Three, but who knows. We've been on something of a roll lately and if Yakubu and Lua Lua can bring some goals and we get a few lucky breaks anything is possible. On paper this match is a slaughter but at this point in the season with both sides desperate for points that really doesn't mean much. Good chance Sir Alex will sit Ronaldo for the match. Interesting comments from SAF on Pompey here:

More after the match.

Re: Pompey vs. Man United [R]
Just as I was about to come and complain how poor a half Steve Stone was having - goal! Overall though the team looks like crap and are quite lucky to be up - of course I don't care how we win and am ecstatic! PLAY UP POMPEY!

Re: Pompey vs. Man United [R]
Congrats to Pompey! I must say, as someone who has only been watching football for three-plus years, and now this my first full year of the Premiership, I am AMAZED at the spirit and fight of both the Portsmouth players and the supporters.
There is something about Pompey (IMO) that sets them apart from all of the other clubs at the bottom third of the table. Maybe their spirit comes from Harry Redknapp? Or is it just the support thrown behind them by the fans?
Either way, I'm a believer that they'll be back again next year after today's result.

I mentioned in the Man United forum that I thought this was one of the worst officiated matches I've ever seen. I was actually surprised to see Sir Alex didn't get angry with the official for not calling what looked like could have been a hand ball on Matt Taylor. Thought it was a classy move by SAF not to get bitter about the loss and am sure he recognized that some terrible calls went both ways, though I have to say that for what seemed like the first 60 minutes or so the terrible calls almost all went against Portsmouth.
