Year 5 of the list, covering all goals and cleansheets June 1st and after for Yanks Abroad. The list includes Guiseppi Rossi and Neven Subotic and any other players who are defined as "Yanks" who don't play for the US Men's team. I will continue to follow FirstStar's que and count all goals/cleansheets for Yanks in the top two flights of the all leagues. In addition I'll count 3rd division goals/cleansheets for the top countries (England/Germany/Spain/Italy) if consistent information can be found for those goalscorers. I will do my best to compile goals but of course ask for the help of the community in keeping track of goals (and explaining to the inevitable newbs that Rossi is a Yank). Let's get too it. FIRST!!!!! Cheers all. I'm happy to contribute the first YA Goal of the 09/10 season: Looks like Mikkel Diskerud scored one today vs. Tromsø. Check out post 283 in the Mikkel D. thread.
For this version of the thread, if I post a Rossi or Subotic goal or Myhill clean sheet I intend to preface it with "yes he is a YA, no whining allowed" About halfway through the last thread I had reached my tolerance limit for that debate.
Thanks! I'll probably post one after the WCQ game Wednesday night to begin my practice, hopefully I'll have something else to post besides the goals from Scandinavia (I'm looking in your direction Timmay!). Zack
It's good that you were able to rise above the bitter disappointment you must feel after such shameful neglect and carry on with your duties as Moderator.
I thought I might have more to put up after the WCQ game tonight. Guess not. Oh well, the season begins! Code: GOAL SCORERS ======================================================================== PLAYER NAME CLUB COUNTRY DIV GOALS LG CL CUP WCQ #Mikkel Diskerud Stabæk Norway 1 1 1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- YANKS ABROAD SEASON TOTALS 1 1 # = Scored this week Goals = Total Goals LG = League Goals CL = Int'l Club Competition Goals Cup = Domestic League Cup Goals WCQ = World Cup Qualifying Goals Code: CLEANSHEETS ===================================================================== Player Name Club Country Div CS's LG CL Cup WCQ #Troy Perkins Valarenga Norway 1 1 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- YANKS ABROAD SEASON TOTALS 1 1 # = Clean Sheet this week CS's = Clean Sheets LG = League Clean Sheets CL = Int'l Club Competition Clean Sheets Cup = Domestic League Cup Clean Sheets WCQ = World Cup Qualifier Clean Sheets
Thanks for the continual updates people. I can keep up with most leagues but I need help with the more obscure guys (btw anyone know anything about the guy in Vietnam? Does there season go at this time of year?) so keep them coming. Also on my next list (which will probably be Wed) you will see that I changed WCQ goals/cleansheets to "INT" which I intend to mean international goals/cleansheets. I know FirstStar kept WC goals the year before last and WCQ goals last year, but looking at the upcoming USMNT schedule I don't know how I can't not record a possible goal against a up to par Italy or Brazil or whoever at the Confederations Cup. And if I'm going to keep those might as well keep the Gold Cup right? And if that...well you get my thinking. So I"m going to count all International cleansheets/goals this year.
I believe the V-League is in season now. But we basically rely on the Vietnemese posters to keep us up to date on Lee's goals. Here's a website that kind of tracks the V-League. It doesn't really have who scored the goals though: http://www.soccerway.com/national/vietnam/v-league/2009/regular-season/
It is my recollection that international goals that counted where in qualifiers, world cup games, and regional cup games (Gold Cup, Euro, etc). I would assume that the Confederations cup falls into that. I do know that friendlys were not counted.
Something like that. I don't know of any friendlies this year for the US (Iran would be cool though!) but if any come about I figure why not just count them all? Makes it easier than having to draw a line. I mean a goal is a goal right even if it's a friendly? I thought that goal Dempsey scored against Brazil a couple of years ago in a friendly was pretty impressive...might as well add those goals too is my line of thinking. So all International goals will be counted (although maybe I shouldn't count any Rossi or Subotic international goals just to throw the haters a bone ). Cheers Zack
I was referring to Rossi's goal this week against Northern Ireland which was a friendly, i.e. it would not count.
