Man U's Champions' League kits
When I saw the highlights on BBC World, I was struck by the fact that the Nike 2002 World Cup lettering stencils were used for MU's numbers rather than a stylized version of the EPL numbers (without the FA logos).
Are the kit sponsors making it clear that THEIR numbers (which are a part of the look-and-feel of the jersey these days) are to go on CL kits rather than a choice made by the domestic football associations or the team itself?

No, the numbering is not nearly as nice as in the EPL kits. Leave it to Nike to screw up anything that has to do with althletic clothing.
