Great performance by Japan, and the breakout season of Honda continues.

Looks like a few players for Japan attended the Slovenia Institute of Dance.

Great job, Japan! I'll certainly be rooting for them against Paraguay.

And Honda has some skills. :)

Surprised Japan went for the win. I called a 0-0 or 1-1 draw but didn't quite see this coming. Either way, same result as Japan are off to the R16. Paraguay is a tough task but not insurmountable, although Japan might've preferred Slovakia instead.

Convincing performance by Japan. Thought about skipping today's evening matches but I did not regret watching

I think that was the last big tournament for Denmark for quite a while....

LOL funny u should mention that - I thought the exact same !

Great performance by JPN. When I first saw Honda play for VVV, I thought he was special indeed, and he proved it today at the biggest stage.

but my sympathies go to DEN, who played a splendid tournament, but just unlucky in th end.

Only two teams get through..and the best two are in.

LOL i love the super pro european bias on these boards. So many peolpe said Japan had no chance, even though Denmark has to be one of the weakest european teams around, and Japan one of the strongest asian teams. But so great is some people's pro UEFA anti AFC biases they refused to see the reality that Japan is stronger than Denmark. NOW THEY KNOW THE HARD WAY!!!

I'm actually happy that I was proven wrong about Japan vs Denmark. JPN deserves this win! WC is looking better, along with France and Italy's loss! Surprising that even NZ has never lost at all! Now I'm rooting for Chile and Swiss to advance too!

Bring in the year of underdogs!

Let's nip this one in the bud. Take it to the World Rivalries board.

Honestly, I don't think even us Japanese fans did not expect that Japan will score 3 goals against Denmark. Props to our boys!!

Im a little disappointed with the last goal. I predicted Nippon to prevail 2-1 in the pre-match thread. Now my Japanese wife is simply unbearable because she predicted 3-1. Very nice game, though I thought the ref was heavy-handed with the Danish players in the box.

Yay, go Asian teams. I'm not surprised about their freekick taking skill, but I feel bad for Nakamura. I was hoping to see his amazing kicks one last time this WC.

And next round it will be AFC vs CONMEBOL, beat them like we did to CAF and no one will ever underestimate us again :D

Actually, compared to Cameroon and Denmark, Japan is not an underdog. They were just greatly underestimated by some ignorant anti-AFCs.
