Re: Match 55 (R16) - Paraguay v Japan - PBP Thread [R] 5 very good pk's by Paraguay and onto to the QF for the first time
Re: Match 55 (R16) - Paraguay v Japan - PBP Thread [R] Paraguay will get ********ed in quarter finals if they play like this.
Re: Match 55 (R16) - Paraguay v Japan - PBP Thread [R] congrats to paraguay. well done, japan. all pk's were good. even the one that hit the bar. those are tough...
1 - why didnt nakamura take that PK 2 - why wasnt kawaguchi or narazaki subed in , they are far more experienced in stopping PK's
Paraguay is going to get crushed by either Spain or Portugal. So would have Japan. Well, so long Asia.
I was rooting for Japan but felt neither side truly deserved to win this match. In that sense, it was fitting that the game was decided by penalties even if disappointing that it was Japan that ended up losing the contest.
And thus, the most defensive team in the planet keeps going. They may survive, but not the viewers. Me has hecho sufrir, Paraguay.
¡¡¡¡¡ VIVA PARAGUAY !!!!!!! Felicidades, por vuestros primeros Cuartos de Final....... Great achievement JAPAN too
I wanted Japan to win but as we know FIFA is sporting some South American Love this WC so w/e i know they wont get past Portugal/Spain
Congratulation to Paraguay. I think Paraguay is the lesser of the two evils, and will fight better with Spain or Portugal, even if I think neither of the two is qualified to be one of the best eight teams.
It's obvious Tata Martino has been training the penalties well. He knows he has a team that is basically mostly defense. Yes, they can attack against teams they know well (in South America), but outside they always play mostly "not to concede goals." It's their psychology. When they have tried attacking football, they've always lost, even against Qatar.
Well Paraguay plays alot like Switzerland. And Spain lost to Switzerland. So if Spain beats Portugal and has to play Paraguay...
lol paraguay won't get crushed. they're quite capable of a switzerland like perfomance should they face spain. and if they face portugal, well that game should put us to sleep.
me thinks you guys are not familiar with paraguay they're a defensive team. that's paraguay they have a lot of heart and football tradition
