1 - why didnt nakamura take that PK
2 - why wasnt kawaguchi or narazaki subed in , they are far more experienced in stopping PK's

Paraguay is going to get crushed by either Spain or Portugal. So would have Japan. Well, so long Asia.

I was rooting for Japan but felt neither side truly deserved to win this match. In that sense, it was fitting that the game was decided by penalties even if disappointing that it was Japan that ended up losing the contest.

And thus, the most defensive team in the planet keeps going.

They may survive, but not the viewers.

    Me has hecho sufrir, Paraguay.

Is it just me or was Japan's goalkeeper awful in the shootout? He made it so easy for Paraguay.

Congratulation to Paraguay. I think Paraguay is the lesser of the two evils, and will fight better with Spain or Portugal, even if I think neither of the two is qualified to be one of the best eight teams.

It's obvious Tata Martino has been training the penalties well.

He knows he has a team that is basically mostly defense. Yes, they can attack against teams they know well (in South America), but outside they always play mostly "not to concede goals."

It's their psychology. When they have tried attacking football, they've always lost, even against Qatar.

Well Paraguay plays alot like Switzerland. And Spain lost to Switzerland. So if Spain beats Portugal and has to play Paraguay...
