It's just a joke folks. Get over it.

I'm Canadian, I love hockey and that was hilarious!
Oh, right, I'm just trying to act cool. Really, that segment upset me terribly but I don't want anyone on BS to know it, so I'm going to hide behind my ultra-tough outer facade while really crying on the inside.

IMO the segment neither bashes nor criticizes the MLS or soccer, conan and the other guy merely summarize what happened during mls cup, with sarcasm obviously, but nothing really much more than that.
yea conan called donovan a bundesliga standout which really isn't cool right?! cuz apparently lando never receives such criticism.
in all honesty, i dont think the segment was ever about a knock on soccer, rather it seemingly was more about satirizing someones expert knowledge on such an obscure topic in our society. a topic in which hardly any of his viewers have a clue as to what the hell he's talking about, which is wats suppose to make it funny.

Amazing, only one person out of DOZENS managed to understand the actual point of the joke. They do this same exact bit all the time with all kinds of subjects that are relatively obscure to their audience, and the whole point of the joke is that most people have no clue of what they're talking about, especially when they get into very detailed facts. Be it subjects in politics, sports, science, literature, internatoinal news, the olympics, etc.
The bit even has its own Wikipedia entry for god's sake!
Small Talk Moment
"Conan and Max make small talk about a particular subject. The result is usually that both Max and Conan, bantering back and forth, end up going into extreme detail or citing obscure people and events. Once they have exhausted the subject, Max stops and says, "Wow, Conan! Talking about (this subject) sure is interesting," to which Conan enthusiastically responds, "It sure is, Max!" They then stare at one another in dull fashion as the camera cuts back and forth between them."
Those who think the bit was about somehow "mocking" the MLS are... boohoo-victimized-crybabies at best. But hey, it's normal for someone who constantly got bullied in school to think that EVERYTHING is akin to a "kick-me" note on their back, since that's how they've spent most of their lives, and are by now permanently traumatized.
