Re: Off-Season News
I predict the Rapids will do nothing to better their club. Whatever is done will be much ado about nothing and every other MLS franchise will move forward whilst (Gary smith word) giggling and snickering whenever the heartless Colorado Rapids are mentioned. Oh yeah, and after 12 years of passionately following the team and being laughed at by colleagues for it, I will finally give up on the Rapids and not be around next year. Maybe Seattle earned my passion.

Re: Off-Season News
Horrible ending just pathetic. I'm not jumping ship though, it's Rapids or no other team. I refuse to support sounders like DenverCalifornia. We are just part of a portfolio by our owner and no corporation dares display their name our kit. I know there's no cup's in our future, no shields, no invatations to concacaf tournaments. Since I've been a rapids fan it always came down to the coach, first Hanki then Clavijo. Is it to early to run Smith out of town? That seems to be what us fans are good at. I think it's time to lay off the coach and start to question the XI on the field. We also have to blame ourselves, we get a kick ass stadium and the fan base is awful. Everyone is waiting for something to happen either on the field or in the stands. We need people to start taking action, whoever talks to the team coaches, players and FO let them know we will not support crap anymore and if they ask tell them were moving along to a better a club, a club know as Seattle until they earn all of us back.

Direct from the CRAPids web site:
Kroenke Sports Enterprises is committed to providing world class sports and entertainment for both live and broadcast audiences.
That is the funniest thing I have ever read, especially when comparing it to the stinking pile of feces that is the CRAPids.

I know your deep in it here since you've been around a few months, but Cal is the first part of my last name. I hate California and I've been on this sinking ship for 12 years. Oh, and thats a great idea, why didn't I think of that. Yeah, maybe some of us who talk to coaches, FO and players frequently should let them know we won't stand for this crap.... that will work.... that's freakin brilliant... why didn't we think of this Quinn, Mark....we'lll really have to consider this.

Re: Off-Season News
1. Kroenke will not spend any additional funds.
2. This team is/was good enough this year to make the playoffs... they just stunk it up for most of the final 7 games.
3. We don't really need a huge lineup change.
Prediction:
Rapids make the playoffs in 2010...
GS gets into the player's heads and they play more consistent and qualify in 3rd place in the West (7th overall)
Anything is possible after that.

Re: Off-Season News
you can fault roster/personell all you want. Players play and injuries happen. It is leaderships job to get the most out of those players still active and playing. This did not happen. In fact, the tinkering with the roster is what really put the team they are in the spot in currently, when you step back and look.
I have yet to hear on spot of responsibility from GS or SG after any bad result. In fact, just the opposite. They call individual players out publicly and blame the team after a bad result without a shred of ownership for the result themselves.

Remember all of that "Fire Clavijo" stuff we did back in 2007?
Yeah...it didn't work.
We're not big a enough group where the FO would respect any threats we would make. The performace on the field is the thing the supporters groups have the least control over, and yet that truely is what effects our numbers the most. There really isn't much we can do.
