FIFA to hold 'emergency meeting'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ls/8375320.stm
Fifa has called for an extraordinary general meeting in December to discuss incidents at the World Cup play-offs.

Well it has been a pretty torrid few weeks for the game. Discuss.

Re: FIFA to hold 'emergency meeting'
Waste of time.
IFAB won't approve the five referees system for the WC because it hasn't been trialled extensively enough even by UEFA, let alone FIFA. All significant changes are trialled by FIFA at an international level (usually at youth championships and a Confed Cup) prior to implementation at the big show.
As noted, there is no possibility of a replay for the France/Ireland match.
This meeting will result in a whole lot of discussion, a couple of press releases and exactly zero practical outcomes.

Absolutely true/spot on, Caesar.
The only thing the Old Septic Bladder and his decrepit FIFA Executive cronies (Michelle Platypus especially) want out of this meeting is: an impression that they are doing something (ie are in control).
In the words of a famous r&r band: we won't be fooled again.

Do you think so? Hmm... possibly.
Maybe there's been such a furore about the Henry incident* that they may feel that they need to 'do something'.
As you say, though, I doubt it.
* Mind you... god knows why. I's just the latest in a long line including the Barca/Chelsea CL match last year where there were TWO cast-iron, stonewall penalties turned down. The only thing they wanted to discuss then was how much punishment Didier Drogba should receive for using a rude word

Re: FIFA to hold 'emergency meeting'
Nothing will come out of this.
If come, will be a punishment for France, like losing their seed spot (which by the last world cup seeding ranking they would be). Which i believe will be fair.

You forgot to mention free food and other perks for the FIFA pigs that isn't coming out of their pockets.
