MLS Expansion Draft. Who do we protect?
We need to turn a list in of our 11 protected players by Monday. The official rules aren't out yet, but I'm assuming they'll be similar to last years. Here's my list.
1. Thorton
2. Talley
3. Thomas
4. Bornstein
5. Cuesta
6. Braun
7. Nagamura
8. Lahoud
9. Kjlestian
10. Santos
11. Galindo
Yours?

Re: MLS Expansion Draft. Who do we protect?
I think Braun should be protected. He's young and has a lot of potential, if ChivasUSA were to let him go I could totally see it coming back to bite them in the @$$, like what everyone thought Eski was.

Re: MLS Expansion Draft. Who do we protect?
Braun must be protected. He played better than expected this season after coming off the injured list. Trading Attiba sucked, but Braun played better for it.
I like Glyco's list. Padilla needs to figure out if he wants to be here and play up top where he belongs.
It seems like the new coach will decide that. .

Re: MLS Expansion Draft. Who do we protect?
I'm willling to take the risk of not protecting Braun to have someone else like Padilla playing on top and letting someone like Mayen/lahoud/Flores start. I'm not debating his potential, but thats all it is, potential and we are full of those. We also need proven strikers, proven defenders and proven mids.

Padilla is not a proven player. Padilla is a player with lots of potential, he still has alot to show the MLS what he can do. Hell, he had more opportunities than Nurse and Lillingston combined.
Braun is still green with lots of potential, but so far has shown alot more than Padilla. We need to protect our goalscorers. Not potential goalscorers. Braun over Padilla at this point.
