Default what would be your starting line up for the wc

assuming all the players all injury free, what would be your starting line up against tough opponents like brazil or spain (i hope we don't face them early). here is a quick overview of our players:

GK: this one is a no-brainer as lee won jae is our best goalkeeper and i'll be sad to see him in his last world cup.

DF: I think we have right now great centre backs with the likes of lee jung soo, kang min soo, cho young-hyung and kwak tae hee(but not as great as the 2002 CB, but better than any other year), and great fullbacks like lee young pyo, kim don jin, oh beom seok, and cha du ri

MF: this is the area where i'm concerned about. sure we have great attacking talents with ki sung yong, park ji sung and lee chung young, but we have no great defensive midfield. back in 2002, kim nam il and yoo sang chul were a beast and i can't see anyone filling their shoes in a long time. the one thing i don't really get is why we play kim jung woo; he has no talent, shots are way off and give free kicks in dangerous areas. the only good thing he has is his height and maybe the reason why huh plays him.

FW: park chu young is our best foward obviously and the move to france had benefitted a lot. however who to partner him is the question.

in my opinion, i think we should play the formation of 4-2-3-1. you've got to admit, our midfield will get overrun when we meet europeans/african sides and i don't think the 4-4-2 formation cracks it anymore. also our fowards except for park chu young are not that great either

------------------lee won jae
cha----- lee jung soo----- kang min soo---- lee young pyo
-----------cho won hee--- ki sung yong
---lee chung young-- kim do heon -----park ji sung
------------------park chu young

most of you might be thinking, what the hell is he talking about. i would play cha at right back because of his atleticism, height and more defensive prescence at the back 4 and his experience are vital to our team. i like oh beom seok, but i think cha offers more even though his technical skills and his crossing need improvements.

for cho won hee, i still think he is vital to our team as well. a great box-box midfielder who will give more defensive presence and effective to us than kim jung woo. also he's very versatile who can help us tremendously. but he needs to get out of wigan to look for first team football

the biggest surprise of all is kim do heon as AM. I still think he has what it takes to be in the starting line up. i saw disagreements over who is the better partner for pcy and i say screw it. they all stink and 4-4-2 doesn't work on european/african teams. we need to overload the midfield so that we have more chances of getting possesion and not carelessly giving away the ball and that is what kim do heon provides. also since pcy can make his own chances, i think that kim do heon would be perfect in that position.

the rest are all self-explanatory and i know it is a long read but seriously the team really needs to improve to close the margins and show Asia has talent. Plz feel free to disagree with me but plz do not make a big fuss about it. we are all entitled to our opinions. peace.

4-2-3-1 is going to invite the offense onto you and you're gonna be playing in your own half the entire match. Inevitably, the pressure will be too much.

Also, Ki as the second DFM? Not sure but isn't he somewhat a defensive liability? I imagine he might want to venture further up the pitch. I thought his passing was his strong point so again he might better serve us further up.

Don't know why Cho Won Hee didn't feature against Denmark but I thought he was our DMF. He should be given this role but agree he needs to start playing whether it's Wigan or elsewhere, fast.

I was thinking more along the lines of 4-5-1 without the ball and 4-3-3 with the ball trying to utilize the width of the pitch.

Good chance that PJY will be marked out of the game unless the opposition D is very slow. Goals will have to come from the midfield. Ki playing a more advanced role and Kim Doo Hyun a threat from long range.

We'll have to utilize our speed/stamina advantage and try to retain possession while playing in the other half.

Just my opinion.

As of now, I think...

(4-4-2)

--------------Park Chu Young-----Lee Dong Gook (Lee Geun Ho)------
--------------------Ki Sung Yong (Kim Do Heon)--------------------
---------Park Ji Sung------------------------Lee Chung Yong-------
---------------------Kim Nam Il (Cho Won Hee)----------------------
Lee Young Pyo (Kim Dong Jin)-Cho Yong Hyung (Kwak Tae Hwi)-Lee Jung Soo-Cha Du Ri
---------------------------Lee Woon Jae--------------------------

hmm you may have a point there with the 4-2-3-1. however i still think the 4-2-3-1 is a better formation that the 4-4-2 one because in order to play in that formation, you need at least a very good techincal player and a solid DM. We have one but we don't really have a solid DM maybe a mix of 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1, but never a 4-4-2 formation.

also i would use ki sung yong as a deep-lying playmaker like pirlo and xabi alonso. He has a good range of short and long passes for a quick counter attack. I don't know if he will play well in the AM since I don't think I see him using his speed to get away the opposition. But he has one hell of a shot so I think the best position would be just a traditional CM. Also Cho won hee needs to get the hell out of Wigan or improve tremendously as he only has about 6 more months.

Even if we play a 4-4-2 and pcy has a partner, it is still predictable that pcy will still be heavily marked and his partners aren't either fast or have a great finishing. Also with kim do heon to support him, i think the goals will come from everywhere depending we play the tactics correctly

new formation 4-3-3
---------------lee won jae
cha------kang-------lee jung soo----lee young pyo
---------------cho won hee
-------------------------ki sung yong
----------kim do heon
lcy--------------------------------------pjs
------------------pcy
also thnx for replying to me and your opinion is certainly welcomed

Safe to say Kim Jungwoo's already found a spot in the starting lineup.

To those keeping count, that's 7 players already decided: Lee Woonjae, Lee Jungsoo, Ki Sungyong, Kim Jungwoo, Lee Chungyong, Park Jisung, and Park Chuyoung.

Three out of the four remaining positions are in defense and the last spot either goes to a central midfielder or a central forward.

My lineup:
-----Jung Sunghoon-
-Park Chuyoung-----
----------------------------------------Lee Chungyong-
----------Ki Sungyong-
-Park Jisung----------------------------------------
-Kim Jungwoo----------

Kim Jung Woo plays because he's psycho and aggressive. Ive figured out that much. He makes a lot of stupid plays while doing so unfortunately. I believe we should be playing our strengths while playing down our weakness. For that reason a 451 is what I would go with. Listen...we dont need two attackers up there if we're not that strong there to begin with. Let the midfield make the plays and dominate. To me, its about efficiency more than anything else.

------------------Lee Won Jae
Cha----- Lee Jung Soo----- Cho YH---- Lee Young Pyo
Kim Namil--- Ki Sung Yong
---Lee Chung Young-- Kim Do Heon -----Park Ji Sung
------------------Park Chu Young

IF Cha falters early and starts making stupid mistakes, yank him early, move LYP to the right and put Kim DJ on the left.

Dong-Jin has been solid for Zenit all season, and I would put him over Young-Pyo anyday. As of now, we don't really have an option for the second striker. Dong-Gook hasn't proved anything, and Keun-Ho has struggled big time. I would love to have Chun-Soo back. His performance back in WC 06 against Switzerland and Togo were simply outstanding. IMO, all four MF positions are locked as well as the two CBs.

his bad behavior, his bullshit stints abroad, his problems in the Kleague and with flipping off home and opposing crowds...the constant shit look on his face...going blonde to separate himself from the pack....etc etc.

he's a baller no doubt....great heart. but as far as team goes, hes all about himself.
