Default Mexican Striker Dead

It looks to be a bad few months for the sport of football with confirmation that Mexican striker Antonio De Nigris died of a suspected heart attack:

Firstly, that's really shitty news

Secondly, this really isn't the best forum to discuss this kind of thing.

I'm tempted to close this down straight away but will give it a chance to see if you guys have some decency (Alex/Antonio - feel free to disagree and just shut this down if you want). The first post out of line and this gets shut down immediately.

No worries. This is one of their own, so the Mexican'ts won't be posting pix of ppl jumping out of the WTC in order to avoid death by fire on 9/11 and other shit like that.

De Negris was in his early 30s and died of a heart attack. Tragic loss of a player I always respected and liked. My condolences to his teammates, coaches, federation and family.

RIP De Negris.

Agreed. Been keeping an eye on it to see how it progresses.

A human being dies -- tragically, young, no less -- and the correct thing to do is to express condolences.

I'm going to take some SuperMod liberties and post this video. This is Antonio De Nigris' brother Aldo. If you don't understand Spanish he is basically saying Tano always believed in him and there was no one that spoke badly about Tano. He also says that Tano is at the side of God looking down on him and that he is sending him strength from Heaven to withstand the stunning blow that this is to their family.

QEPD Tano
