Default Giant Stadium R.I.P, which are your good and bad memories?

I've visiting Giant Stadium since 1996. I would like to invite everyone to express their feelings, memories, good and bad moments lived at Giant Stadiums while the Metrostars/Redbull were tenants.

Let me start with the good memories first.

1- Watch El Tren Valencia scoring his first goal with the Metrostars at Giant Stadium. OMG, the stadium went down.

2- Taking my two daughters with me and enjoying some hot dogs and some hot chocholate on a Wednesday/Saturday night game.

3- We we beat Bayern Munich 2-0, just day after they won the UEFA cup in 2001, that was sweet.

4- Watching Geo Savaressi scoring so many spectacular goals.

5- Watching Lothar Matthaeus entering the field for his first game as a Metrostars player.

6- Watching NY Redbulls defeat LA Galaxy during David Beckham's debut at Giant Stadium with his LA Galaxy.

And so many more......

Bad one

1- How we were treated in general, especially doing nothing to cover the plastic turf during the NFL season. They acted like they did not care about the team or/and the fans.

Good memories:

-USA v. Argentina when the skies opened up at the end. A great 0-0 draw and Howard pulled off some incredible saves

-The first Beckham game - one of the all time great MLS games.

Bad memories:

-Getting pasted 5-1 by Chicago right before Jozy left. Miserably hot that day as well IIRC.

-Last season's meltdown against DCU. I got back to my car and just did not want to talk to anyone or say anything for about an hour. Totally numb.

-Our home CONCACAF CL game against W Connection. Rock bottom and there were about ten people there.

-My only non-soccer related memory - Army/Navy game 2002. My dad was a ST holder at West Point and we got pasted 58-12. It was also freezing cold.

Only events that I have been to:
Good:
1981-Jets beat Giants (1st regular season game between the two at GS). LT's (and Freeman McNeil's) rookie season gets a sack on Richard Todd that has been played forever on LT highlight films.
Springsteen '85, Genesis '87, U2 '92, The Police '07
Testaverde (doesn't) sneak over the goal line to beat Seattle '98
Jets beat the Jaguars playoffs '99
Metro beat Adu United in his first match at GS (Adu scores) '04
USA vs Argentina - great night, brutally hot.

Bad:
Dan Marino fake-spike game
Dennis Byrd paralyzed game vs. Chiefs
Rich Kotite (for all the Agoos haters, here was someone who knew nothing about something he was supposed to be an expert of)
Manyoo v. AC Milan match (miss both goals getting drinks for my son)

The good:

1. Italy-Ireland World Cup '94. Still the gold standard for atmosphere for any event at Giants Stadium.

2. Cosmos - Whitecaps 1979 conference final second leg. 2 shoot-outs and enough drama to last a lifetime.

3. Metros - Revolution 2005. Youri caps the comeback from 3 goals down with a goal from a nearly impossible angle.

The bad:

I could go on all night but one immediately comes to mind -

Metros - Fire 2003 US Open Cup final. What a waste of $200,000.

Wow that is hard to say, My first game at GS was NY Cosmos - Argentina right after becoming WC and Maradona was like 16. I have many good memories, seeing the Cosmos US Nats Metros Red Bulls and many international and WC games.

But i can tell you the worst was this summer and has effected me in more ways then one. and i don't know if i will ever recover. USA v Mexico Please someone put me out of my misery.

My son was a ball boy in the '94 WC. If i'm not mistaken, it was Bulgaria and Italy. Other than that, I had Jet season tickets in Shea; they sucked and moved to NJ. I'm not a season holder any longer.

I also remember the historical Sunday afternoon game between NY/NJ Metrostars vs DC United. DC united was winning by two goals, and with about 15 minutes to play, our Metrostars scored 3 goals for the victory. Afterwords, we became very infamous among DC fans.

The Good:

Tailgating before the 1979 TransAtlantic Cup Final
Tailgating before Cosmos games
Tailgating before NJ Generals games
ANY Cosmos game
ANY Generals game

The Bad:
Sitting in the rain during any MetroStars game
No tailgating before MetroStars games due to our bus not arriving in time

The Ugly:
Traffic after ANY event at Jimmy Hoffa Memorial Stadium!

Yes, and I belive that was my first RBNY game ever. Woly had a clever little header.

for me the first Beckham match obviously stands out
Field Day Music Festival was awesome. Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Elliot Smith.. Beck not performing because he twisted his ankle while dancing to Underworld...
