Re: Torres excused from Denmark camp
Damn, wanted to see him in action in a 4 man midfield with Feilhaber, Bradley and Holden. Any idea what those "personal" reasons are?
Glad to see our Mexicano in there!! Viva Castillo!!!
I hope they replay this as I'll be at work...

Re: Torres excused from Denmark camp
No big deal. Due to his proximity to the US, unlike the Euros who only have 1 FIFA matchday left, Torres will be available every once and a while for US warmup friendlies during the Mexican Primera season.

Boo. I would have liked to see him paired up with Bradley for this game.

By the way, in case you're REALLY slow, I'm ripping on you not agreeing with you.

Re: Torres excused from Denmark camp
I'm assuming JFT opted out because he's basically played non-stop for 2 years and now that his season is over the boy needs some rest and recuperation. It makes sense. I can't blame him. I would do the same. If this is the case I'm sure he consulted with Bradley. In the long run Torres and the US will benefit from this rest. I'd rather have him rest now than burn out in the Spring or heaven forbid next summer. We need all our players fresh before the WC especially since our depth has been tested with the loss of Gooch and Davies.

Re: Torres excused from Denmark camp
It's a friendly, its on the other side of the planet, and we all know that Jose Torres is going to South Africa barring a freak injury. I'd still like to see the kid play more and start for us in these friendlies though; hes looked good in every showing thus far but with our system he won't get many more chances.

Well Vann I usually find your commentary to be the most rational and likely to be true, but I just don't know about this particular one. I think it's surprising that Bob had him on the roster at first (which means that they had talked and agreed he would come--as a very recent example, it became known that Castillo HAD been asked by Bob to come in for the Slovakia match but turned down the offer, in favor of his club commitments, and as such was never seen on any version of the roster for that match) and then took him off because he decided he was too tired after playing 45 minutes on the weekend (plus the year of soccer, granted, or two years as you've put it). I mean, he's shown up for every other call up, even though he hasn't gotten much of a chance in games--and he's always seemed fired up just to be called into the team. So, I've got no idea what the ''personal issues'' might be, and maybe you're right, but I would think that it's more likely a death or sudden illness in the family that's keeping him away this time.
p.s. Sorry for the usage of lengthy parenthetical references.

I don't necessarily agree with that. Feilhaber, Bradley, Holden, Dempsey, Edu, Clark, Jones, Rogers, Kljestan all still have something to say about that.
I'm not saying Torres won't make it - chances are that he will - but he isn't a lock.
