Well, to be honest with you, as a neutral fan, I am disappointed that Real Salt Lake made the final. I was hoping for a better match-up for MLS Cup. LA-Chicago would've been better for TV and the box office.

On the bright side, it saved me about $1500-$2000 because we had planned to fly to Seattle and stay the weekend for that one.

Yeah, but that money would have been well worth it.

That collective sigh you heard last night coming from New York after Rimando saved the penalty was from MLS Headquarters. Also, 2 years in a row a sub 500 team in the final. Yuck.

Salt Lake may have been sub 500 but it isn't like Chicago were world beaters. They were only 5 points behind the Fire in the standings.

Yeah one win and two draws to be exact, yet people are acting like Chicago are the Real Madrid of MLS when they can't even beat a ''sub-500'' team, hilarious.

Yeah, let's get rid of this "below .500" meme. .500 doesn't really exist in soccer. In fact, DC United was "above .500" (9-8-13) but missed the playoffs due to having too many ties in the 3/1/0. Colorado was exactly .500 (10-10-10) and missed out for the same reason. They both missed out on the tiebreaker, but the point there is that in the old 2/1/0 or by winning percentage they both would have gone in over RSL.

But as a DC season ticket holder even I can admit that after watching these games RSL deserved it more. They are a good team, and the ".500" standard be damned.
