Smile Now we get a shot at the CCL

By winning the west we now have at least a preliminary round game in the CCL. If we win we have the automatic trip to the round of sixteen. Of course we may play at the HDC but if we play one mexican team and two Central American teams we may have no home games at all. LOL

It will make you pay attention to what is going on in the Mexican league play offs and the Cental American leagues. We may be playing one of those guys. I up for a Galaxy v Cruz Azul or Club America match.

Hopefully the league increases the salary cap and maybe the roster spots so we can have a deeper team to compete with the Mexican teams next year. Columbus advanced to the quarterfinals this year, but even they seem to take the competition less seriously than Mexican and Central American clubs. An increase in the cap could change this and give the MLS teams a legitimate shot.

Mexican teams don't take it seriously at all. They are just deeper.

It kind of makes you intrested in who is in the playoffs in Mexico and who is lieading in the Central American leagues. We may face someone like Cruz Azul or Club America. They are both in the Clausura playoffs. And last time I checked FAS in El Salvador and Municipal in Gutemala were leading. Any of those teams playing the Galaxy would bring in a lot of fans, Even on a weeknight. We may not have any home advantage. But it will be intersting

That's a tough situation, and I do not envy you.

On the other hand, hats off to a fan of a storied club who was willing to embrace MLS and the local side.

You know we along with a hand full of other MLS clubs we have the means to compete with the Mexican league. Most of the big clubs rosters down there are around 20 million.( except club america they spend a lot) I believe we make more than that every year. It be awesome to be able to buy players like Salvador Cabanas, and Humberto Suazo, Hey aparently Boca Jrs is trying to offload Juan Roman Riquleme, Guy makes around 3 mil a year. Imagine getting that guy even if he is a nut case. but alas Were just so restricted by the salary cap, and all these ridiculous rules the league implements.
