Default Request to USSF re ussoccer.com cookies

Dear US Soccer:

Yes, the new site is pretty cool, compared to what you used to have.

However, your site functions perfectly well without cookies. So please stop telling me on EVERY SINGLE PAGE (with annoying alert box, etc.) to tell me I have to enable cookies. Unless I get a personalized account or buy something, you do not need to set a cookie, and the net result is that I use your site less than I otherwise might.

Sorry to send this here, but your feedback site didn't give me a response. (A second web issue to sort out...)

[Mods, please move as necessary.]

any particular reason why you're disabling cookies? They are innocuous. It's probably just their statistics package.

It's my work laptop, and I can't futz with the settings.

If they put a strict security policy on the browser perhaps that's not the best computer to use to surf the web for non-work related purposes.

If they really had a problem with me going to ussoccer.com, I am sure they'd block it.

Where is the usability guru who is supposed to step in before the site goes live and say "WTF are you doing?" That's just obnoxious design.
