I don't know man, it's unfortunate that Djourou is hurt because I really like him. I think he has a bright future and wile he is a pretty big guy, he reminds me more of Gallas than Vermaelen. I say that because I think he could very well be the answer once Gallas is either gone or past it.
Instead of looking elsewhere, Wenger looked internally for our DM position and look how incredibly Song has emerged. There aren't too many DMs out there that I can name off the top of my head that I would take over him at this point...Essien, Melo and Mascherano. Go ahead and name whoever you think.
I'm just wondering if the same could be done with Djourou.

If Gallas leaves, Djourou could replace him (although that's a big feat given the learning curve and gap in experience). That still would leave us with Silvestre (who may be out of contract as well...I would have to double check) and Senderos (who definitely wants to go to resurrect his career) as our back-ups. Djourou very well may turn into a good player. Personally, I still need to see more from him to be swayed either way. However, this doesn't negate the fact that we need someone else if Gallas is not resigned.

I wonder how Nordveit has been doing in Germany. Has anyone been keeping track?

*raises hand*
Nordveit has been impressing in the games he has played. And guess what...he is playing primarily as a DM, first choice at the moment and has played quite a few 90mins on the trot. Nuremberg are doing quite poorly at the moment but Havard is picking up praise for his reading of the game, excellent tackling and high work rate. Ive only seen him play once live and he did very well defensively, has a better passing range than I thought but funny enough none of his team mates would pass to him.
Norway's U-21 coach has actualy said that he thinks DM suits him better than being a CB and that he wouldnt be surprised if HN eventually ended up as a midfield player.

Soccernet reporting Arsenal may be interested in YaYa Toure.
Toure is a player with a tremendous amount of upside. Anyone follow Barca enough to know why he's been passed over this year?

Arsenal signing Yaya Toure has been a running joke here over the last number of years even before he joined Olympiacos. Just so you know, we are linked with him every month of every year so disregard any more articles you see with any link between he and Arsenal
