Default Panto season starts early in Sweden: The Swedish Football Awards anno 2009.

In one minute, the "green carpet" pre-gala torture session starts here. No idea about availability outside Sweden.

(Warning for the loud ads before the live footage starts running.)

16:41
So far, the footage consists of reporters and camera people standing at the end of a corridor, far away from any of the guests. The staff are swearing about nothing working and making desperate cell phone calls. The excitement is killing me!

Too bad. Lots of men in dark suits and a couple of old guys being interviewed. The occasional trophy wife in the background, but no sign of flocks of outrageously dressed female footballers.

Finally interviewing a youngish player, male of course, about his recovery from cancer. Meanwhile, guests are being given Catalonian cava. Partay!

The Another old guy... and another... and another... Already tired of little black dresses floating by: red? purple? green, even?! Every interviewee so far has been asked about who they think will win the Golden Ball (Zlatan). Funnily enough, no mention of the Diamond Ball until 32 minutes into the broadcast.

Landström just wandered past the camera, hand in hand with her girlfriend. The gf is wearing a silver grey dress (not black!), but Landström seems to be wearing a big black t shirt. Radical choice.

Finally a woman gets to stick her face on camera and it's Sjögran. Oh. My. Just wait . Maja Krantz, who popped on after her, scrubs up surprisingly well. Not sure about the outfit, but compared with Sjögran...

Any blue eyeshadow yet? No pirate outfits? No gold lamé ties?

Sjögran had pink glitter make up and a lopsided, tie neck silk shirt with weird sleeves, plus a giant wave in her Charlie Chaplin hair. Caroline Jönsson is being interviewed and I'm pretty sure I recognise her jacket from a previous year's gala .

The general consensus on the Big Winners: Zlatan for the Golden Ball, Caroline Seger for the Diamond Ball.

So the arrival session is over. Next step, the stilted awards' show from 8pm.

It was kind of them to allow me to watch the ads, though. This is the first time I've been aware of this particular festivity. And I wanted to see it in all its glory
