Default Sportscenter and MLS, don't mix..

Did anybody see today's sportcenter, im still watching it.. but when they showed the higlights of Crew and Real match they did good but then at the end the bald ************ had to kill it when they showed the Crew stats when they go to the Conf. Semi-finals and

he just stayed quiet and said Im sorry I dont understand what it is trying to say, so if you wanted to know I dont know what that is...wow I feel liek writing to ESPN and telling them to get REAL sports anchors, how the hell is some anchor going to get a story of MLS and then blow it off???

Seems like American Media just loves to blow soccer off and make it seem like its a bad boring sport?? Im so heated right now

Anybody see it? Sportscenter right now, or wait till they repeat the show...

I saw it too. After showing the highlights of the game - which were fairly extensive, considering - they showed a graphic of how the past 6 "Supporters Shield Winners" had done in the playoffs/post-season competion. Basically it showed that with the exception of the 2008 Crew, they've all flamed out.

The "bald guy" as you say then gave a totally quizzical and perplexed look and made a joke of it and said he "had no idea what that [the graphic] meant" blah blah blah. Basically I think he was saying he didn't (doesn't) understand what a Supporters Shield winner is/was.

Yea, thoroughly unprofessional, but I've seen worse from them. At least we got fairly extensive highlights and the informative (for me, anyway) graphic.

I'm absolutely not one to complain about ESPN, but that was as bush league as it gets.

I mean tomorrow I'm going to go to my job and just say I don't understand this so I'm not going to do it and see how my boss reacts.

You'd think that they'd have some time to do some research on what they report prior to reporting it. Or at the LEAST, ask a flunky on set to look it up for them real quick.

I didn't see Sportscenter, btw. So, i can't comment on that. I'm just saying....

Was it Scott Van Pelt? if so, he's a notorious soccer basher.

It was in deed scott van pelt but i would expect more him to be more professional. Eh, really i could see lot of people not understand what the supporters shield was. Hell, uptell about 3 years ago before i started following any soccer I would of had no clue. so think he was just acting as the "regular" espn watcher.

The silence and the pause was stupid...how hard is it to figure out, or he could have said he didn't know what the SS was, instead of acting like it was some disgrace to even think about what it could be...

"Did you finalize those reports Jim sent you?"

"Yeah, they had complex numbers all over the place and words I've never heard of so I went for lunch instead."
