A lot of people on here have a lot of faith is this guy to rebuild this team in the offseason, but I ask why? Why should we have faith in a guy who it seems is afraid to take chances on bringing in new players? Who has he brought us that has made a huge difference?

MLS rosters were cut over the last off season and the reserve league was dropped. We have two expensive, veteran players (and Mapp) that tie up enough cap space to make a lot of other moves possible.

There's not a whole lot we could have done this season.

True but we also traded for a good sum of allocation money and with the transfer of Soumare that put more money into our pocket and if you were to combine the two totals we would of have around 600000 to spend on players. We could have brought in a defender with all the injuries we have had or a forward to replace Mcbride when he was hurt. We had money to spend.

Klopas did pull the trigger on the McBride trade which was universally praised for the most part.

The roster was pretty set this year, although I'm still scratching my head over the decision to sign Mapp to a contract which paid him like he was actually worth something.

He also brought in David Myrie, who our coach is telling everybody by not playing or even dressing him, is not as good as Austin Washington.

The Soumare/Hamlett situation forced him into a decision that was not called for.

I'm also wondering about Ive's suggestions that Javier Leon is the defacto leader of the front office and how that impacts what Klopas can do.

It's fair to say the jury is still out on Klopas' ability as a technical director. We're going to find out real soon this off season.

I do not give Klopas any credit for the Mcbride trade the league was going to make sure Mcbride ended up in Chicago. You are right about the Soumare situation but then why not go out and get a CB to replace him? Everybody loves him because what he did here as a player.

Hey fire428, how about Marco Pappa? Oh, only 1 guy? How about Tim Ward? Oh, doesn't Tim Ward count? You won't give him credit for Tim Ward because of why? We also have a defender who may or may not be good in the name of Myrie.

I feel DH sabotages players Klopas signs, it was criminal of DH not to use Pappa more at the end of last year, I won't even mention Frankowski, oh wait I just did! I don't think DH and Frank see eye to eye on talent and rosters, that is a problem. It could be fixed with Frank as head coach.

Frankowski was a bust, a big one at that. How has Pappa done recently his play has dropped off big time about half-way through the season, when was the last time he got a goal or an assist. Sorry but I dont think 5 goals and only 3 assists is anything to get super excited about thats just me. Tim Ward was a good pick up until he got hurt. I am amazed how much love Pappa gets on here but he doesnt even produce as much as Mapp did.

I think the "there is $X to spend, why didn't he spend it to bring in a player" argument is a farce. There is not an unlimited pool of talented players in this world. There are transfer windows that restrict when in-contract player moves can be made. Sure, you could go out and find an out-of-contract player and throw money at them, but that is absolutely no guarantee that they will be a *good* player or the right fit for the team. Soumare was out of favor and off the team in a matter of a couple weeks, and then the window closed. New player acquisitions do not generally happen so quickly/rashly, especially in a league where the salary cap and other restrictions are so important to consider.

So your first point was proved false, so to save face you attack the remaining signings and you bizarrely insinuate that Frank should have known Ward would get injured??

We have the players to win the cup, that is all Frank can do, DH has to play them in formations that allow them to succeed.

Not at all I like the Ward signing a lot it was a good move, all I said was up until he got hurt learn to read. Yea we have a team that can win a Championship but lets look at the make-up off the team. Blanco, Busch, Conde, Rolfe, Thorrington, Sega, Mapp, Pause, Robinson, Banners and many others were here before he was he has a very small part in the current make-up of this team.
