Default Timeline for injuries

Davies-Obviously no one knows and we probably shouldn't even discuss it and just be glad he's alive

Gooch-Looks like 3-4 months

Jones-I think someone said a couple more months, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Castillo-???

DeMerit-????

Edu-???

Marshall-???

Any others who are contention for a WC spot?

Hopefully we'll see Jones called up for the first friendly in 2010.

Demerit's timeline is dependent on whether he will need surgery on his eye or not. That is still up in the air.

Same with Jones, I think. They said addtional surgery not needed, but something was screwy from the last surgery so you never know. He could progress and heal up, or could end up going under the knife again if things don't go as planned.

Still only been following strongly since 2006, but has there ever been another time where the US has had such a string of injuries? Especially leading up to a World Cup?

We lost Armas prior to the 2002 WC and then started the WC with Reyna hurt, had Stewart get injured in the first game and then had Agoos get hurt as well in the 2nd? 3rd game (although many would argue that was for the best).

That's what I'm saying. You pretty much have to prepare for at least 2 or 3 top players being injured heading into the World Cup.

Now, most of the guys should be healed by the time Bob makes his roster selections, but 1/3 of the assumed Top 23 are injured at this point. US Soccer resembles Arsenal's injury woes of he last few seasons.
